Book reviews for the week of August 28th - August 31st

Hello all!  This is a special edition, end-of-August post.  I will be traveling for the next couple of weeks on a real vacation.  But I did not want to wait that long to share my review of this fantastic romance I just finished.  Tanner and Quinn share an amazing love story full of acceptance, support, and healing.  I honestly cannot recommend it enough.  Make this your next rock star or military romance pick and i promise you will not be disappointed. Guarding Shadows (Save Me #5)  by Aly Stiles and Hazel James #Military #HealingLove #WoundedHero #Bodyguard #Rockstar #SlowBurn 5 STARS This is my first Aly Stiles book (though several have been on my TBR for quite a while) and my second Hazel James book. This can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA. It is written in first person from an alternating dual POV. Quinn is the rock star about to take off into the stratosphere. She exudes sunlight and joy all over Tanner and his shadows. Tanner....

Book reviews from the week of August 21st

I am excited for this weekend.  I had a productive week where I read three ARCs, a book for book club, and a novella of a new-to-me author. The book club author was also new-to-me so this week I was able to read two authors I have been wanting to read  for a while. This week I will let my reviews speak for themselves, but I enjoyed every book I read.   I will be on an actual vacation for the first two weeks of September so my reviews for the next couple of weeks will be delayed.  I wish everyone happy fall and happy reading.   After We Fall (Dare with Me #6) by J.H. Croix ARC: Release Date- 08/30/2022 #SmallTown #FriendsToLovers #ForcedProximity #ARC 4 STARS Book six in the Dare with Me series can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA.  It is written in first person from an alternating dual POV. We finally get Harley and Grant’s story.  Readers first meet Harley when she comes to visit her brother in Alaska and ends up staying....

Book reviews from the week of August 14th

Happy weekend!  I am home from my travels and recovering from a severe allergy burst.  I finished two ARCs and a new release this week. I am thrilled that they were all incredibly good reads.  Piper Rayne and Pippa Grant gave me ARCs that delivered feel-good, small town romantic yumminess. J.T. Geissinger's new release was an erotic thriller that completely blew me away.  Three delicious books.   I am working at the JOB this weekend, so I wish everyone a happy weekend and week full of the books that feed your soul. My Fake Fiancé (Greene Family #8) by Piper Rayne ARC: Release Date- 08/23/2022 #SmallTown #FakeRelationship #FriendsToLovers #CurvyGirl #ARC 5 STARS Mandi and Noah find love and their HEA in book #8 of the Greene Family. It is written in first person from an alternating dual POV.  It can be read as a standalone, but readers will find enjoyment reading the series as they get to know the Greene family and their history leading up to thi...

Only problem is, he had the warmth of an ice pick ...

Book reviews from the week of August 7th

Happy weekend.  This week I read one ARC and finished an audiobook reread of another book I started last week.  Carly Phillips adds to the Kingston Family world with Jade Dare's love story.  You don't want to miss this one.  My listen of Rockaway Bride by Pippa Grant was a fun and relaxing treat. I really enjoyed going back to my first Pippa book with audio and the narrators did a fantastic job bringing the story to life.  I wish everyone a week of happy reading and good stories.   Stirred Up by a Seal (Bad Boy Bakers #3) by Kait Nolan ARC: Release Date- 08/04/2022 #Military #FriendsToLovers #SmallTown #ARC 5 STARS Book three in the Bad Boy Bakers series can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA.  Readers should be aware, however, that there are plot points that run across the series that may make it more enjoyable to read the series in order.  It is written in third person from dual POV. I was so excited to get Jonah’s HEA.  Though I met Rachel in previous books, I felt like I finally got to know her in this one.  She is strong and feisty.  I love her intelligence and her perseverance and her bravery after everything she has experienced in her life.  The way she is with Jonah is really special.  I adored the friendship they share and they way they “see” each other.  Jonah is a protective guy who tends to put everyone else’s needs above his own.  Sometimes he goes too far in this, but Rachel is quick to cal...
