Book reviews for books read September 1st-11th

September is going by quickly. So far this month I have read one ARC, three other books from my TBR, and four novellas. (I scored a bunch of steamy novellas on a free insta-love romance day. I am enjoying reading those in the evening instead of starting a new book that will keep me up too late.) I also DNF'd my first book in a while. Amazingly, all nine books were by new-to-me authors! What an incredible start to a month, right? Funny story about the ARC: I have met J.R. Gray on several occasions at book signings and he has been on my list to read for a while. Because I like him as a person and his books sounded so good, I have signed up to promote many of his books as they release, knowing I would eventually get to read them too. The PR company he is using for this upcoming release emailed me that I could have an ARC (that I didn't sign up for) and after looking at my calendar, I realized I had time to read it! I have to say that happened to be the best decision I made all w...

Book reviews for books read June 24th - 30th

June has been a crazy month. This last week I have been able to read an ARC, a book I had to pass on the ARC in April, two books from my TBR, and a reread of one of my favorites through read & listen. I honestly loved them all for different reasons.  One of the best things about romance is that there are so many sub-genres, tropes, and now micro tropes, that I never fail to find exactly what I need. This week I also read two new-to-me authors. One has been on my list for a while. The other was an impulse and a novella that came at the perfect time. Check out my reviews and add these to your list today. Until next time, happy reading. Somehow You Knew (Carrington Cove #5)  by Harlow James ARC: Release Date- 07/10/2025 #MoC #ForcedProximity #SmallTown #ARC I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book. Written in first person from an alternating dual POV, this can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA. I can...

Book reviews for books read June 1st-14th

Happy weekend!  It has been a busy couple of weeks but I managed to read 6 books. Two ARCs, and four books from my TBR. I have been working on reading the backlist of Swati M.H., and managed to read all but one of her books prior to assisting her at the HEA Reader Event in Indianapolis on June 7th. Then I joyfully read two ARCs, both over 400 pages. Then I needed something a little different. I needed to break away from traditional, contemporary romance and was able to fit in a paranormal rom com and a monster romance. Now I am back to ARCs.  There are so many good books to read. I am exceedingly grateful to the authors who have written and are writing books that suck me into their imaginary worlds. Thank you authors for giving me a way to escape reality for a little while and guaranteeing me that happy ending. Till next time, happy reading. Book reviews for books read April 27th- May 3rd

Happy weekend! I got a little behind as far as month end wrap up goes but I did read four ARCs this week.  They were all just what I needed. A hockey romance with close proximity, a billionaire surprise pregnancy, an erotic romance with emotional depth, and a reclusive rock star with a heavy side of treasure hunt: they made my week a happy one. Check out my reviews and add these to your TBR. Until next time, happy reading. The Playmaker (Nashville Knights Hockey #2)  by Emily Silver ARC: Release Date 05/02/2025 #SingleDad #Sports #ARC I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book. The Playmaker is written in first person from an alternating dual POV. As the second book in an interconnected series the story stands alone and ends with a HEA. Because characters from book one do play integral roles in Stevie and Bode's story, some readers may want to read book one first even though it is not necessary for the plot of book two...

Book reviews for books read March 1st-9th

Happy weekend! I just finished my ARC of Lucy Score's book which is releasing this week. OMG! I loved it so much! My review really doesn't do justice to the feelings and laughter this book created within me. I also read two books from my TBR. I finished the 3rd book in the Naughty Princess Club by Tara Sivec, and I read my first book by JJ Knight. When life gets tough, laughter is the best medicine. Thank you Lucy, Tara, and JJ for making me laugh this week. Story of My Life (Story Lake #1) by Lucy Score           ARC: Release Date- 03/11/2025 #GrumpyHero #Fling #FamilySeries #SmallTown Written in first person from an alternating dual POV, this can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA. Hazel is a romance author who finds herself in a slump after an ugly divorce. She has become a seriously hot mess. Her best friend and agent, Zoey, has done her best to get Hazel to move forward but it is not working. When a late night and a lot o...

Book reviews for books read January 25th-31st

Happy weekend. Can you believe that January is over? In some ways it felt like it took forever and in others it flew right by. I read two ARCs and two books off my TBR this week. Personally, this week has brought huge changes to my life. I am hanging in there, but my brain is a little scattered and reading has been difficult. In the coming months, I will do my best to keep up with my reading, this blog, and the romance book world. Meanwhile, I hope you still look to my reviews to add to the never-ending TBR we all have. Until next time, happy reading. Just One More Temptation (Sterling Family #4)  by Carly Phillips                                                ARC: Release Date- 2/4/2025 #AgeGap #GrumpySunshine #SingleDad #ARC Written in third person, this can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA. Noah Powers (36) currently has primary custod...
