  I can't believe it's August already!  I was traveling nearly half of July, so I only read 5 books.  Three were ARCs and I managed to read two more books in Koko Heart's Cooper Sisters series.   In the last 21 days of the longest month in existence, I read four ARCs. Two were hockey romances. Two were single dad. All were fantastic. The hubby and I took a week off in California to spend some time with family. Though it impacted my reading, I wouldn't trade those memories for anything.   Welcome to the end of 2025. In December I read a total of 8 books plus a collection of erotic short stories that I left unrated. In this post you will find reviews for my last 5 reads of the year. Four of them are by new-to-me authors. They are all very good and would be good additions to your TBR. After taking a step back from several ARCs these last few months, I found myself really leaning into mood reading. I found myself drawn to FB ads while mindlessly scrolling and gave into the urge to check out those books on several occasions. It was delightful. I hope my reviews help you find your next read.   October has been a weird and difficult month for my family and for me. At the end of September, we learned that my husband's cancer was not stage 3- but had progressed to a stage 4. This makes him incurable and inoperable. As we wait for molecular testing results to show whether there is a chemo that will work on his rare cancer to add time to his life, our minds have been spinning. We are coming to terms with the fact that after 35 years together, we may have only months left instead of the years we had hoped for. Because he is the love of my life, I have been struggling to read romance this month. I recognize that this may continue for a while. Recent events are reflected in my reading capacity even beyond romance. By this time last month, I had read 15 books and DNF'd 2 others. This month, I have read 3.   Hello! This has been a crazy month as the hubby has radiation appointments almost every day, multiple doctor appointments per week, and my paying job has required extra shifts this month.   Another month down. This month I read a total of 18 books. That included several novellas and one box set that I counted as one.
