Book reviews for books read in April 2026

Hello. April was a crazy busy month. I read four ARCs and one book from my TBR.  Three were small-town romances, two were sports romances, two had first responders, and three were single dad heroes. In other words, all just what I like. Check my reviews and add them to your TBR. You won't be sorry. Till next time, happy reading. Test of Time (Blossom Peak #3) by Harlow James ARC: Release Date- 04/10/2026 #SingleDad #GrumpyHero #FirstResponder #SmallTown #ARC I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book. This is written in first person from an alternating dual POV and ends with a sweet HEA. Though it can be read as a standalone, readers will find the most benefit from reading this interconnected series in order of publication. Rhonan is the grumpy single dad to 5-year-old, Ellis- who is a delight. He is also the protective older brother of Laney from book one in this series. I loved it when Vienna shows up and knocks h...

Book reviews for books read January 10th-31st

In the last 21 days of the longest month in existence, I read four ARCs. Two were hockey romances. Two were single dad. All were fantastic. The hubby and I took a week off in California to spend some time with family. Though it impacted my reading, I wouldn't trade those memories for anything. There are a lot more good books that were released in January and I hope to read them soon. Till next time, happy reading. On Borrowed Time (Blossom Peak #2) by Harlow James ARC: Release Date- 01/16/2026 #GrumpySunshine #Nanny #SingleDad #SmallTown #ARC  I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book. This is written in first person from an alternating dual POV and ends with a HEA. Though this story can be read as a standalone, readers will want to read book one of the series first to avoid spoilers if that bothers them. Henley is such a delightfully broken grump of a man. At 32, he had a traumatic childhood that left him feeling unworthy...

Book reviews for books read June 1st-14th

Happy weekend!  It has been a busy couple of weeks but I managed to read 6 books. Two ARCs, and four books from my TBR. I have been working on reading the backlist of Swati M.H., and managed to read all but one of her books prior to assisting her at the HEA Reader Event in Indianapolis on June 7th. Then I joyfully read two ARCs, both over 400 pages. Then I needed something a little different. I needed to break away from traditional, contemporary romance and was able to fit in a paranormal rom com and a monster romance. Now I am back to ARCs.  There are so many good books to read. I am exceedingly grateful to the authors who have written and are writing books that suck me into their imaginary worlds. Thank you authors for giving me a way to escape reality for a little while and guaranteeing me that happy ending. Till next time, happy reading. Book reviews for books read February 23rd-28th

I read four books this week to finish out February. One ARC, one book that has been on my TBR for a while, and two books by new-to-me author Tara Sivec.  I love when the romance community comes together to support their own and they did it with style on February 26th, declaring it Tara Sivec Day. Tara is an author battling an aggressive breast cancer and readers were encouraged to buy and read Tara's books to help with her astronomical medical costs. The first book of her Naughty Princess Club series has been on my kindle for several months, so reading that series seemed like the easiest place to start for me. As an author, she has actually been hovering on my list for years. I remember Pippa Grant mentioning her in a newsletter as a laugh out loud author. I have been meaning to read her work ever since. This month, her day was the push I needed and I am blown away by her humor, comedic timing, and fun characters.  Check out my reviews and add all of these to your TBR. ...

Book reviews for books read September 14th - September 23rd

Hello. This past couple of weeks have been busy ones. I spent the past weekend in Seattle, Washington at the Rain City Author Event. It was put on by Southern Belles and I am happy to report that kinks that plagued Sweetgrass this spring were nowhere to be seen in Seattle. The venue was spacious and the lines were well controlled. The wristband process was seamless and I was able to see all of the authors and still had time to visit with friends. I was hopeful that would be the case and I am happy that it was. I read four ARCs over the past two weeks. They were all something special. Check out my reviews and add some fantastic books to your TBR. Until next time; happy reading. Book reviews for books read between May 1st and May 11th

Happy weekend! Eleven days into May and I have finished eight ARCs. Some might say when it rains, it pours: but I can tell you this has been a very enjoyable storm. Each of these books captured me in their own way. I loved them all. I also really appreciated the variety built into this month's arc reads.  Those following me may notice that I am no longer going to attach a star rating to my blog reviews. I have to for other platforms because it is either required, necessary for authors to be seen in algorithms, or both. I realized this week (it took me a while) that I don't have to assign that here. I am honestly not a huge fan of the star rating system. Two books can both be five stars in my eyes for very different reasons. Maybe one would be 8 stars if that was an option, but there is no where to rate that. The purpose of my reviews is to share what I liked or even loved about the books I read. In all reality, if I am not loving it, I will DNF the book and not review. There...
