Book reviews for books read July 7th-19th

Happy weekend! My daughter visited for a week and I spent several days reading 6 novellas in the Berserkers Saga which was a perfect thing to read while she was here. I also finished the Tsenturion Warriors series finally. I love those big gold aliens. Be careful about swiping right for abduction, LOL. And I was able to read an ARC of Emily Silver's next release. This book was written as a special book for RARE London this year and will release in August. It was a thoroughly enjoyable start to a new series. I want to go back and finish the rest of the Berserker series and I am hoping to really get through some books on my TBR over the next couple months. Stay tuned for a lot of reviews as I do that. Until next time, happy reading. Not In the Plans (London Lightning #1) by Emily Silver ARC: Release Date-08/08/2025 #AgeGap #OneNightStand #OppositesAttract #Sports #Workplace #ARC She had him from “Hello”. I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader ...

Book reviews for books read December 8th-15th

It has been an insane month so far. I can't believe that next week is Christmas! I was traveling a good portion of last week but I still managed to read one full length book and four novellas.  I love being able to variety read again. It was such an enjoyable week of reading for me. Check out my reviews and add these to you list today.  Happy reading. Santa Monica, Baby (Holidays in LA #3) by Kelly Reynolds #OppositesAttract #Holiday #Novella Written in first person from an alternating dual POV, this can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA. Austin is not your typical MMC as he is on the fluffy side.  I appreciated that he was not 6’4” and built of muscle.  He was a regular guy who was sweet on the inside and had a talent for playing Santa. His artistic soul fit his photography profession perfectly. Who knew that under the unassuming exterior was a soft dom with a heart of gold? Nellie is working as a corporate lawyer. She is a goal-oriented, driv...

Book reviews for the week of June 4th

Happy weekend!  I coming in a little early this week since I will be traveling this weekend.  I read two ARCs, one book from my TBR, and listened to one audiobook for a reading challenge.  It was a varied week for me and I really enjoyed the diverse approaches to romance in different sub-genres.  I still have a lot to do before we leave in the morning so I will wrap this up.  I hope my reviews help you find your next favorite read. Happy reading! Grumpy the Bear (Blueball Band of Brothers #1)  by Marika Ray ARC: Release Date- 06/08/2023 #AgeGap #SmallTown #GrumpySunshine #HealingLove #SingleDad #ARC 4.5 STARS Book one in the new series can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA.   It is written in first person from an alternating dual POV. Gannon is a hero who is crusty on the outside and squishy on the inside.   The way he is with his daughter, Elise, is absolutely heart melting and ovary popping.   I appreciate his uncerta...

Book reviews from the week of July 24th

Happy weekend.  I read 4 and a half books this week.  Have you ever had one of those moments when you are reading a book and you are not getting into it, but you know it is you not the book?  That was me this week.  So I took a break.  I stopped halfway through the book.  And I picked up something completely different from my recent reads.  I had added the Alien Bride Lottery book to my TBR on a whim after seeing an ad, reading the blurb, and laughing out loud.  So when I went to my TBR, there it was waiting: something completely different than what I have been reading.  And it was so perfect in breaking my funk,. I went straight into book two before getting back to my regularly scheduled reading.  In addition, I read a free copy of Lena Hendrix's novella addition to the Chikalu Falls series.  Readers can get it for free this weekend through Bookfunnel here:   https://dl.bookfunnel.com/yemk7ug7mi  It releases o...

Book reviews from the week of May 1st

While waiting for the next round of ARCs to arrive, I used this week to get a jump on several monthly reading challenges and to finally read the Catherine Bybee book that has been sitting on my kindle for months since it released. I also finished the Nashville Fury series by Chelle Sloan with her wonderful surprise baby romance.  An Unexpected Distraction was available as a Kindle read & Listen title and I listened to the first half while spring cleaning before switching to the eBook to finish. The narration was very good and I never felt like I was missing anything (which is the biggest challenge I have with listening to an audiobook I have not read already).  I finally got back to the Ice Planet Barbarians after two years to meet a reading challenge requirement of Sci-Fi Romance.  I really missed that world and have already downloaded book 11 in the series.  Emily Silver's "Royal Reckoning" is the first in a series of three royal books and met another re...
