Book reviews for books read March 19th-31st

In the last week or so of March I felt like the old me and got some reading done. I read two ARCs, backtracked to catch up on a couple of TBR books I hadn't read yet, and read a novella by Hannah McBride that I somehow missed before. Needless to say, despite busy life stuff, this made my month. I'm sure my reading pace is going to vary as life happens, but I was very happy to feel like me again. Check the reviews. Add the books to your TBR. Thank an author today for pulling you into a fantasy world that lets you escape your reality- even for a little while. Happy reading! Ryder (Lucky Rivers Ranch #5) by Jessica Peterson ARC: Release Date- 04/07/2026 #BrothersBestFriend #Cowboy #FriendsToLovers #FamilySeries #SmallTown #ARC I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book. It is written in first person from an alternating dual POV and ends with a HEA. This is the final book in the Lucky River Ranch series. Though it can be read as...

Book reviews for books read June 1st-14th

Happy weekend!  It has been a busy couple of weeks but I managed to read 6 books. Two ARCs, and four books from my TBR. I have been working on reading the backlist of Swati M.H., and managed to read all but one of her books prior to assisting her at the HEA Reader Event in Indianapolis on June 7th. Then I joyfully read two ARCs, both over 400 pages. Then I needed something a little different. I needed to break away from traditional, contemporary romance and was able to fit in a paranormal rom com and a monster romance. Now I am back to ARCs.  There are so many good books to read. I am exceedingly grateful to the authors who have written and are writing books that suck me into their imaginary worlds. Thank you authors for giving me a way to escape reality for a little while and guaranteeing me that happy ending. Till next time, happy reading. Book reviews for books read January 11th-18th

Happy weekend! I read five books this week. All by authors I have read previously.  I have continued with the Arranged Monster Mates novella series, gone back to the beginning of the Howl's Edge Island series, and read one of Susie Tate's that has been on my TBR. I also read an ARC by Harlow James that was amazing and Lilian Harris' new release which kept me n the edge of my seat. My dad is doing much better and I get to fly home tonight and resume all of my regular life duties and responsibilities.  I look forward to the books I have planned for the next week. Have you read anything great lately? If so, give me the recs in the comments on this post.  Until next week, happy reading. Sometimes You Fall (Carrington Cove #3)  by Harlow James ARC: Release Date- 01/17/2025 #FriendToLovers #SmallTown #SingleMom #SurprisePregnancy #ARC Written in first person from an alternating dual POV, this can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA. Grady is an amazing hero....

Book reviews for books read December 28th-31st

Wrapping up 2024 with two more monster romance novellas and two full length novels by Piper Rayne, including an ARC of today's release which happens to be their longest book yet. I went to their back list and read Smitten forst because I wanted to see Henry and Jade as children. I am glad I did. It connected me to their characters in a way that I would have missed otherwise. They have a tough time finding their HEA and knowing their history really helped me hang in there for them. The two monster novellas were good, steamy, fun reads.  I had a great reading year. I am changing things up a bit in 2025 and I am looking forward to hitting a lot of my TBR.  Stay tuned for my best of 2024 by trope lists coming soon. Happy New Year!  Happy Reading- always! Book reviews for books read December 23rd - 27th

Happy weekend!  We are almost to the end of 2024 and I have been wrapping up my reading challenges for the year.  I had set a goal off 200 books in Goodreads for the year and I was a little behind. The holidays are the perfect time for novellas and I read several over the past week to meet my reading goal. I also finished the B.A.N.G. Book Club Challenge this week. The hardest book on the list for me was a banned book. When looking for a book, I found either I had already read it, or it was honestly not something that interested me. I finally settled on an Alexa Riley novella with the thought that the author is banned on the 'Zon and it was a step dad romance. I read one ARC, one full-length novel, and seven novellas this week. Five of those were by new-to-me authors. Jessica Peterson's new release in the Lucky River Ranch series was fabulous and it melted me in all the best ways.  I fell down the monster romance rabbit hole in a big way. I am OBSESSED with the Arr...

Book reviews for books read December 16th-22nd

This week I read four novellas (including one reread) and one full length novel. This is the time of year where I am trying desperately to wrap up annual reading challenges. I an still just a little short of my 200 book goal for the year, but I still have 10 more days. I did manage to complete the monthly challenge in Claire Kingsley's group with the last item being a reread of a holiday favorite. "Unwrapped" was the perfect answer for that.  I also completed the A to Z Challenge and a full card Bingo for Carol's Crazy Bookish World. Carol's page is always a joy and if you want to learn about all kinds of books she is an excellent resource.   Here is a link if you feel like joining an awesome group:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/440366536380630  I am almost finished with the 52 book B.A.N.G. Book Club Challenge and I hope to have that posted for you next week. But alas, I have new ARCs on my kindle that get my attention next. Two things that I love abo...
