Book reviews from the week of January 22nd

Happy weekend!  I had an eclectic and amazing week reading.  I participate in a few reading challenges each month and this year one of them started with a Bingo card.  Silly me, I decided about half way through the month to go for a full card cover up.  I had a brilliant idea.  Why not meet the challenge reading novellas by some of the authors I am planning to read for upcoming book signings?  I made a plan, selected some books to meet the requirements, and I think I might just make it. I read two ARCs. one new release, two books from my TBR, one historical romance, four novellas, and a novella reread of one of my favorites.  One of those was a new-to-me author.  The downside of finding more authors I like though is if they have a lot of books in their backlist.  As it is, I will need to live to be 300 to get through my TBR.  Anyone know a vampire to grant me immortality? Novellas can be challenging.  The author has to build ...

Book reviews from the week of January 8th

Happy weekend fellow readers!  I had an AMAZING week reading.  I read three ARCs, a prequel to a new series and one of the ARCs, a book on my TBR, and a newly released memoir.   Kait Nolan's new series Kilted Hearts is set in a small Scottish village and I am 100% hooked on how this is going to play out. I need the whole series now.  Carly Phillips is getting ready to release a short follow-up to Just One Spark.  I love seeing Cassidy and Dash work on their marriage and compromise for more happiness.  Melanie Moreland released The Watcher while I was on vacation last fall.  It has been patiently waiting on my kindle for me to get back to it. And now that I have I need to say WOW! Damien is everything I needed him to be.  Following that up with an ARC of the final book in the series, I then fell head over heels for Egan and his romantic soul.  Finally, I spent 2 days reading Prince Harry's newly released memoir.  I had a lot o...

Book reviews from the week of May 1st

While waiting for the next round of ARCs to arrive, I used this week to get a jump on several monthly reading challenges and to finally read the Catherine Bybee book that has been sitting on my kindle for months since it released. I also finished the Nashville Fury series by Chelle Sloan with her wonderful surprise baby romance.  An Unexpected Distraction was available as a Kindle read & Listen title and I listened to the first half while spring cleaning before switching to the eBook to finish. The narration was very good and I never felt like I was missing anything (which is the biggest challenge I have with listening to an audiobook I have not read already).  I finally got back to the Ice Planet Barbarians after two years to meet a reading challenge requirement of Sci-Fi Romance.  I really missed that world and have already downloaded book 11 in the series.  Emily Silver's "Royal Reckoning" is the first in a series of three royal books and met another re...
