  October has been a weird and difficult month for my family and for me. At the end of September, we learned that my husband's cancer was not stage 3- but had progressed to a stage 4. This makes him incurable and inoperable. As we wait for molecular testing results to show whether there is a chemo that will work on his rare cancer to add time to his life, our minds have been spinning. We are coming to terms with the fact that after 35 years together, we may have only months left instead of the years we had hoped for. Because he is the love of my life, I have been struggling to read romance this month. I recognize that this may continue for a while. Recent events are reflected in my reading capacity even beyond romance. By this time last month, I had read 15 books and DNF'd 2 others. This month, I have read 3.   June has been a heck of a month. My husband has had 2 hospital admissions so far and we are only 23 days in. It has me off my groove a little bit. I was able to read two ARCs and three books from my TBR in the last bit though. Check out my reviews and give these books a try.   I read three ARCs and 2 books from my TBR in the last 2 weeks. I feel good about that considering that life at home has been pretty full lately. May has been an excellent reading month for me.   During the last week of the month, I managed to read four books. Two ARCs, a book club book, and an erotica book that I kept seeing on social media. Two of the authors were new-to-me authors. All were interesting reads. I am very excited to attend book club and hear the different takes on "Hello, Stranger" by Katherine Center. Jade West's "The Naughty List" was delightfully smutty. "Elderwood Sound" by Annie Dyer provided one of the most amazing series wrap books ever. I hate to leave Puffin Bay behind. "Changing the Play" by Emily Silver allowed Derek to have a full redemption from the guy we knew from previous books.   The last two weeks were a little hectic. In between working my paying job, I drove solo to attend Wild & Windy West in Glendale, AZ,and with the hubby to Denver for a medical procedure. The signing was amazing. The ladies of Wild & Windy know how to run a crowd. New locations always offer challenges and undoubtedly highlight areas to improve the next time around. For me? I had a blast. Connecting with other readers and the talented authors present was a balm to my soul and a landslide of books added to my TBR.  With that much driving in one week, I was able to listen to three audiobooks by new-to-me author Kristen Proby (whom I met in Glendale). I loved the story telling and creativity of the plot. It kept me alert while driving and I am forever grateful for that. I also read three arcs, a book by another WWW author, Jennifer Hartmann that has been on my TBR forever, and a novella. Older was so beautifully written, I think it has made a mark permanently on my soul. T...

  Happy weekend! I decided that since I hit 7 books this week I should just go ahead and push this out today. I will read at least one more today but you will see that review next week. I had a gap between ARCs! I went back and finished the Kings of Avalier series that I started in February 2024.  SO GOOD! They are new adult, which is not my norm, but the fantasy realm made them un-put-down-able. I am thrilled to meet the author in Phoenix in a couple of weeks. I read the next book in the J. Saman series I am making my way through. Those Abbot-Fritz brothers are something else. I adore that whole family. I read four novellas with 2 of those being new-to-me authors. Coco Miller's book was a fun billionaire read, and Regine Abel's Prime Mating Agency was GOLD.
