Book reviews for books read July 20th-31st

Another month down. This month I read a total of 18 books. That included several novellas and one box set that I counted as one. I read one ARC during this last stretch of the month by a new-to-me author. I also read three books off  my TBR. It has been a hectic month and my words are gone at the moment. So I will wish everyone a Happy August. Let's read some fantastic books. Property of Blade (Kings of Anarchy MC: Alaska #1)  by Kathleen Kelly ARC: Release Date- 08/04/2025 #OppositesAttract #MC #Paranormal #Shifters #ARC I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book. This is a first-in-series- book set in a larger multi-author world of the Kings of Anarchy. Written in first person from an alternating multiple POV, this can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA. This was my first book by this author, and the first book I have read in the KoA world. I can tell you now that I am going to continue to devour this ...

Book reviews for books read between February 9th-22nd

The last two weeks were a little hectic. In between working my paying job, I drove solo to attend Wild & Windy West in Glendale, AZ,and with the hubby to Denver for a medical procedure. The signing was amazing. The ladies of Wild & Windy know how to run a crowd. New locations always offer challenges and undoubtedly highlight areas to improve the next time around. For me? I had a blast. Connecting with other readers and the talented authors present was a balm to my soul and a landslide of books added to my TBR.  With that much driving in one week, I was able to listen to three audiobooks by new-to-me author Kristen Proby (whom I met in Glendale). I loved the story telling and creativity of the plot. It kept me alert while driving and I am forever grateful for that. I also read three arcs, a book by another WWW author, Jennifer Hartmann that has been on my TBR forever, and a novella. Older was so beautifully written, I think it has made a mark permanently on my soul. T...

Book reviews from the week of June 23rd-30th

Happy weekend. I have worked five twelve hour night shifts in the last seven days and I am tired. The good news is that I read four books including one arc and three reading challenge books. One was a new to me author. I had a good week overall. I hope my reviews help you find your next favorite read. Billionaire Grump (New York Billionaires #2)  by Julie Capulet ARC: Release Date- 06/30/2024 #Billionaire #Celebrity #FakeRelationship #GrumpyHero #Instalove #OneBed  #Virgin #ARC This is book two in an interconnected series about the four Maddox brothers. It can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA. It is written in first person from an alternating dual POV. Alexander is the oldest Maddox brother at 29, and notably the grumpiest. He has devoted his life to maintaining and growing the legacy of the family company. As the fourth generation CEO, he has a lot of pressure on his shoulders and not a lot of time to think of his own desires or needs. When he agrees to ...

Book reviews for the week March 1st through March 4th

This week I decided to split my posts so that February and March were separate.  Look for my most recent blog post to catch reviews from the beginning of last week. The beginning of March brought me a windfall of ARCs and I was able to read three of them so far.  Gina Azzi released her newest book on 03/02/23 and I was able to finish the ARC right before.  Kennedy L. Mitchell will release her newest on Wednesday.  If you love a morally gray hero and some suspense, check out my review.  You might love this one as much as I did.  Finally, I finished my week with Kait Nolan's next release.  "Grump in a Kilt" is a fun and low angst romantic read with mature characters.  All three of these ARCs were five star reads for me, even though they are all very different kinds of romance. I love a week with variety.  Check these out and add them to your TBR.   I wish everyone a week full of good books and happy reading. Bad Boy's Downfall ...

Book reviews for the week of October 3rd

I had an incredible and record setting reading week.  I read sic ARCs, one book club book through KU Read & Listen, and two books from my TBR.  I am trying to read new-to-me authors that I will meet at the Indies Invade Philly event in November.  I have come to realize that I probably will not get to all the authors I haven't read in time for the event.  My new strategy is to read novellas (especially if they are in KU) and short stories from different anthologies for as many of the authors as I can.  What that means for reviews is that the short story reviews will not be available until I finish the anthology, so those will come to the blog later.  This week had something for everyone from romantic comedy to romantic suspense.  There are a few books from family series.  There is a MC romance and Melanie Moreland's next release is almost mafia romance but with a twist.  There are several alpha heroes, which I adore.  Single mo...
