Book reviews for books read May 1st-16th

I have read more books in the first half of May than I did in all of April. For the first time in a while, I did not have ARCs, so I was just following my mood. I read new recent releases and six books from my TBR. Honestly I loved them all. The best thing about following a mood is getting to read a variety of things. It has been a really fun month so far. Check my reviews and add some books to your TBR. Until next time, happy reading. High Heat: A MMF Baseball Novella #MMF #Novella #Sports Written in first person from Darcy’s POV, this quick, steamy read is a standalone and ends with a HEA. I love everything this author writes.  At times it is truly poetic. I loved how Darcy believes in their baseball ability. I really loved how she is able to see the closeness and unspoken communication ability they have with each other that makes them special on the field.  I adored how Cash and Sawyer are together: tender, protective, and hot.  Darcy is a lucky girl.  ...

Book reviews for books read October 1st -19th

October has been a weird and difficult month for my family and for me. At the end of September, we learned that my husband's cancer was not stage 3- but had progressed to a stage 4. This makes him incurable and inoperable. As we wait for molecular testing results to show whether there is a chemo that will work on his rare cancer to add time to his life, our minds have been spinning. We are coming to terms with the fact that after 35 years together, we may have only months left instead of the years we had hoped for. Because he is the love of my life, I have been struggling to read romance this month. I recognize that this may continue for a while. Recent events are reflected in my reading capacity even beyond romance. By this time last month, I had read 15 books and DNF'd 2 others. This month, I have read 3. All of that to say, there may be fewer reviews for a bit. I have opted out of some arcs already. I have a few more I am going to attempt to read on time. Check back for my...

Book reviews for books read September 12th-20th

Happy weekend. This week I read two books from my TBR, five novellas, DNF'd one book, and completed the B.A.N.G. book Club 52 week reading challenge for the year. I read six new-to-me authors this week to continue of what seems to be a September theme for me this year.  That brings me to 16 new-to-me authors this month when I include the two books I did not finish. The two books from my TBR were both recent releases I have been wanting to read. I was not disappointed as Lyndsey and Susie always impress me. I also read books for the following challenge categories: A book set in Canada An academy romance A Thanksgiving romance A book I purchased in 2020 It was a really good reading week. Check out my reviews and add some more books to that TBR. Until next time, happy reading! The Categories. The completed chart. This is the group site if you want to join and compete in challenges.  https://www.facebook.com/groups/946607852613605 Book Reviews: Reveal Me (The Beckett Brothe...

Book reviews for books read January 25th-31st

Happy weekend. Can you believe that January is over? In some ways it felt like it took forever and in others it flew right by. I read two ARCs and two books off my TBR this week. Personally, this week has brought huge changes to my life. I am hanging in there, but my brain is a little scattered and reading has been difficult. In the coming months, I will do my best to keep up with my reading, this blog, and the romance book world. Meanwhile, I hope you still look to my reviews to add to the never-ending TBR we all have. Until next time, happy reading. Book reviews from the week of May 19th

Happy weekend. This week I read three ARCs and two books from my TBR.  All three ARCs will release the first week of June and the two books on my TBR have been on my kindle for a while. They served as perfect palette cleansers between these wonderful ARCs. Both books from my TBR offered heroines with disability. In The Marquess and I, Willow is blind. In Wolf Signs, the heroine is deaf. I felt like the authors handled both situations well within their stories and it made them interesting reads. Check out my reviews and add these to your TBR today if they grab you. I don't think you will regret it. Happy reading! Book reviews from the week of February 4th

Happy weekend! This week I caught the flu.  When stuck at home not allowed to go to work, what should I do?  I read of course. (After I was feeling better than the initial yuck.) I finished three ARCs, three books for reading challenges by two new-to-me authors, and one audiobook novella.  It was quite a week.  I read everything from sex club fantasy hot times to closed door fantasy romance. I feel happy and thrilled that I had such a diverse reading week.  Take a look.  maybe you will find a new author or two to love like I did. Until next time, happy reading! Untether (Alchemy #4) by Elodie Hart ARC: Release Date- 02/08/2024 #AgeGap #OWYM #Celebrity #SingleMom #OppositesAttract #ARC 5 STARS Book four in the series can be read as a standalone and ends in a HEA.  It is written in first person from an alternating dual POV.
