Book reviews from the week of December 20th

Happy holidays! Sometimes during a busy week like this one, short novellas are the perfect reads.  I found the "Mistletoe, Montana" holiday series and was able to devour several of them.  They are quick steamy reads and it was exactly what I needed this week. Here's wishing you a wonderful holiday season with all the books you want to read. Delivering His Gifts (Mountain Men of Liberty #10)  by K.C. Crowne #SingleMomRomance #HolidayRomance #MilitaryRomance #SurprisePregnancy 5 STARS There is more to this holiday read than the blurb would lead you to believe. This is written in first person from dual POV. Danielle is a single mom with a horrible, abusive ex. She is barely holding it together trying to save her home and her dog rescue/training facility after a flood. Her little girl, Skylar, is an adorable addition to the story, as are the dogs. I want an Oscar. When Mason approaches her looking for an emotional support dog for his friend, she doesn't trust him becaus

Book Blog Tour: "Protective Instinct" by Tricia Lynne

PROTECTIVE INSTINCT (Unlovabulls #1) by Tricia Lynne Release Date: December 21st Every now and then, I read a newer author who knocks my socks off.  This is Tricia's second book, and the first of her work I read.  I was blown away.  This is a five star read, that I cannot recommend  enough. My Review: 5 STARS This was my first book by this author, and I am blown away.  This full-length novel is written in first person from a dual POV. There is so much to this book.  There is the drama of Brody, a football player nearing the end of his career with the injuries and politics that entails.  There is the story of Lily, a dog trainer who has rejected family expectations and coercion in to pursue her dream and her happiness.  You have the story of the dogs that are rescued, the mills that used to hold them, and the struggle to save more in that situation.  And finally, you have the story of two people who have an instant physical attraction, become friends, share a common goal, and fa

Book reviews from the week of December 13th

I only read two books this week.  They were both new to me authors and both books were excellent.  One of things I love about blogging is the opportunity to read new authors.  It is especially gratifying when those authors give me that sometimes indefinable "more" that makes a book stick with you long after you finished it.  Both of these books bring that "more" for readers who are looking for books that will grab your heart and squeeze while delivering the joy of a happily ever after. This Much Is True by Tia Louise ARC: Release Date- 12/14/20 #Opposites Attract #RoadTripRomance  #ExConRomance #SingleDadRomance #ARC  5 STARS A romance set in our new world. “This much is true…You can count on me. I’ll never let you down. I’ll always stand by your side.” This is the first romance that I have read that incorporated the chaos of 2020. It is set in a world of face masks, social distancing, and economic repercussions like ruined businesses. It does not dwell on these,

Book Blog Tour: :This Much Is True" by Tia Louise

Title: This Much Is True Author: Tia Louise Genre: Single Dad/Opposites Attract Romance Release Date: December 14, 2020 BLURB A smart and sexy romance about a grumpy single dad on a mission of revenge, and the girl he can’t leave behind by USA Today bestselling author Tia Louise. Hope   I blame the alcohol. I lost my restaurant business, was forced to sell my dad’s cherished 1967 Chevy Impala, and I got a little drunk. Now I’m waking up with the hottest, angriest guy I’ve ever seen, speeding down the highway like a bat out of hell. Ice-blue eyes hit mine with stomach-clenching force… and he swerves onto the shoulder, ready to kick me out. Needless to say, our romance doesn’t start out sweet.   J.R.   Two years ago, I hugged my little boy goodbye and told him I’d be right back. Next thing I knew, I was arrested and sent to prison for a crime I didn’t commit. Until they let me out early…     Now I’m headed home to confront the man who put me away. A lie put me behind bars, and I’m rea
