Book reviews for books read March 8th-18th

It isn't quite the weekend, but we are leaving on Friday for a couple weeks and I will be effectively on vacation and out of the country. So here are the reviews of the books I have read in the past 10 days.

I read three very different ARCs. All were fantastic. Check my reviews and add these to your TBR. The first 2 are available now and the third releases 3/20.

Until next time, happy reading!

The Heir (Belvedere #1) by Elodie Hart

ARC: Release Date- 03/11/2026

#Billionaire #ARC

I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance review copy of the book. This is the first book in a new series, can be read as a standalone, and ends with a HEA. Readers who have read the Alchemy series by this author will recognize Ivy as she gets her happy ending.  It is written in first person from an alternating dual POV.

Ivy (24) works as a host at Alchemy while managing family dynamics that are heartbreaking. The author does an amazing job tackling the issues Ivy deals with at home and the emotions tied to them. Xavier (30) is the heir to his father, the critically ill Duke of Oxford. He has trained his whole life to serve his duty to his family and the crown. That includes an arranged marriage that was set when he was an infant. He is engaged, but not romantically involved at all, when he meets Ivy and his world is turned upside down.

I appreciated how Xavier becomes enlightened once he knows of Ivy’s circumstances. They both live lives of duty and service to their families- but in very different ways. His desire to protect and worship Ivy is something that melted me. Ivy is strong and independent though. He must work for it. They each must weigh and decide what they are willing to sacrifice in the name of taking care of the families they love. Those decisions are not easy ones to make.

Though not as smoking hot as some other books by this author, there is no shortage of hot times. The chemistry between Ivy and Xav is intense. This book swept me away to a world I didn’t want to leave. To say that I am invested in this serious would be a gross understatement. I can’t wait for the next book.

Because this book does have characters living through some challenging family dynamics, readers should check the author’s CWs before reading.

Faking Cinderella (Small Town Sisterhood #3)

by Pippa Grant

ARC: Release Date- 03/17/2026

#Billionaire #ForcedProximity #GrumpyHero #OneBed #SmallTown #RomanticComedy #ARC

I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book. This third book in series can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA. It is written in first person from an alternating dual POV.

Readers first meet Margot in book two of this series where her sister Daphne finds her HEA with Margot’s ex-fiancé. We had a hint that there was a lot more under the mask than she allowed people to see, and this book takes the mask off. I adored her! She certainly had the oldest daughter syndrome going on and I could relate to her (even though I was not raised by billionaires). I love that she crafted what she thought was a foolproof plan to meet her long-lost half brothers and gain justice against her father and his miserable self. I appreciated how much love she had for Daphne and the patience she exhibited in putting the plan together. She was a complete boss babe and I loved her.

Rhys…oh, Rhys. He was a damaged soul, and I fell hard for him. I loved how he understood Margie/Margot. I adored their chemistry and his stamina. He had protective nature and competence in the kitchen as well as chopping firewood…sigh. Yeah, he’s a total package. He’s the perfect complement to Margot because he appreciates everything about her.

There are hot times, laugh-out-loud moments and all the other emotions a reader like me wants to experience while reading a rom com. The triplets were hilarious.  Being back in the Tooth was a blast. I loved seeing the characters from the Three BFFs series again in their HEAs. I couldn’t stop smiling. This is worth reading more than once.

Fight For Us (Pinecrest, Montana #1) by Emily Silver

ARC: Release Date- 03/20/2026

#Cowboy #SecondChance #SecretBaby #SmallTown #ARC

I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of this book. It is written in first person from an alternating dual POV, can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA.

Presley and Kade come back together after a six-year separation and a lot of life to find each other again for a sweet and steamy HEA. Presley had some pretty awful family dynamics growing up with a constant push pull with parental control. Kade grew up on the wrong side of town (according to her parents) and they made sure to split the high school sweethearts. When they see each other again, they must overcome some miscommunications and a secret to move forward and decide if their relationship is worth fighting for. Luckily for us readers, it is.

Kade has grown into a successful man who recognizes his value (most of the time) and isn’t afraid to pursue what he wants. Presley has finally learned to stand up for her own happiness and that of her daughter, Poppy. They are young but take brave steps toward the future they want. I loved seeing Kade as a dad. Poppy is a joy. I really liked that Presley didn’t prevent Kade from knowing her. They fall back together quickly and are such a sweet second chance story. Don’t worry though: there are plenty of steamy moments too. Their history makes it easy to know each other in the best ways. This was a wonderful start to a new series, and I seriously cannot wait for book 2.

Book reviews for books read May 3rd - May 10th

Happy weekend!  I read two ARCs this week. They were both very different and both very good. Marika Ray's new book is going to be the perfect summer read. Take it to the lake or the beach and fully enjoy the quirky romance between Maple and Holt. I promise you will adore the meddling seniors along the way. Then I read an arc by a debut author and it knocked  my socks off. When was the last time you got a book hangover from a brand new author? Yeah, it is a rare thing but it happened to me this week.  Check my reviews and add these to your TBR. You wont be sorry. Until next time, happy reading. Anchored by Marika Ray ARC: Release Date- 05/13/2025 #FakeRelationship #ForcedProximity #SmallTown #SecondChance #ARC I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book. This standalone is written in first person from an alternating dual POV and ends with a HEA. Maple (32) is having a crisis of confidence due to many factors when sh...

Book reviews for books read May 11th-25th

I read three ARCs and 2 books from my TBR in the last 2 weeks. I feel good about that considering that life at home has been pretty full lately. May has been an excellent reading month for me. There are so many good releases right now, it is impossible for me to keep up. These are all worth adding to your TBR. Check my reviews and add them to your list. Until next time, happy reading. Built To Last (Park Avenue Promise #3) by Lexi Blake ARC: Release Date- 05/27/2025 #EnemiesToLovers #Celebrity #Workplace  #ARC I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book. This is the third book in the series, and it is written in first person from Harper’s POV. This book is driven heavily by dialogue, and I personally did not miss having the male POV. Though it fully contains the love story of Harper and Reid, I think readers will gain the most value from reading this series in order. The friendship and found family relationship between Ivy, ...

Book reviews for books read April 27th- May 3rd

Happy weekend! I got a little behind as far as month end wrap up goes but I did read four ARCs this week.  They were all just what I needed. A hockey romance with close proximity, a billionaire surprise pregnancy, an erotic romance with emotional depth, and a reclusive rock star with a heavy side of treasure hunt: they made my week a happy one. Check out my reviews and add these to your TBR. Until next time, happy reading. The Playmaker (Nashville Knights Hockey #2)  by Emily Silver ARC: Release Date 05/02/2025 #SingleDad #Sports #ARC I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book. The Playmaker is written in first person from an alternating dual POV. As the second book in an interconnected series the story stands alone and ends with a HEA. Because characters from book one do play integral roles in Stevie and Bode's story, some readers may want to read book one first even though it is not necessary for the plot of book two...
