Book reviews for books read December 1st-8th

This month I have read two ARCs so far and caught up on a book that I had to opt out of ARC reading before it's release. They were all fantastic! Check my reviews and add these books to your TBR. You won't regret it.

All This Time (Blossom Peak #1)  by Harlow James

#BrothersBestFriend #ForcedProximity #FriendsToLovers #SecondChance #Sports #SmallTown

Written in first person from an alternating dual POV, this first book in a new series can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA.

Laney and Fletcher had feelings for each other in high school that never went anywhere before events changed each of them and their chances for a relationship. Twelve years later, in the weeks leading to a friend’s wedding, they are forced together as best man and maid of honor for wedding planning.

Laney has harbored so much hurt and anger over the past events and toward Fletcher. When they finally cleared the air, it was like breathing again-even as a reader. Fletcher has always held back his feelings for Laney out of respect for her brother. Now that he are older, he realizes that his feelings are the only thing that hasn’t changed. I loved their banter. I love that Fletcher really is a good guy, despite having a rough childhood. I appreciated that when they do get together, they stay together- no third act break up. Is there angst, drama, and a little heartache along the way? Of course. These broken, realistic characters made this a joy to read. I was cheering them on to let their feelings take charge.

This series centers around the friendship of four men as they navigate life and love and I am so ready to read all of their HEAs.

Chasing Home (Plain Daisy Ranch #6) by Piper Rayne

ARC: Release Date-12/09/2025

#FamilySeries #SurprisePregnancy #Celebrity #ARC

I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book. Written in first person from an alternating dual POV, this can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA. Readers will get the most enjoyment, and catch some throwback jokes, if they read the series in publication order as the characters of this large family overlap with all books in the series.

First, I need to say that I adored Romy. She is strong, direct, and still a hopeless romantic. She is fiercely loyal, brave, and willing to do what it takes to make a relationship with a difficult celebrity work. Zander had a rough childhood. He has scars and walls as a result. He also doesn’t believe, deep down, that he deserves to be loved-especially by someone like Romy. His struggle to grow is real and I appreciated that he doesn’t take too long to get his girl.

I have adored this whole family series. The secondary characters are such a big part of the couples’ stories. In this book, Zander’s best friend, Beau, reached out of the pages and grabbed my heart. Please give us a book where Beau gets his happy ending too.

Secretly Yours by Stephanie Rose

ARC: Release Date- 12/26/2025

#FriendsToLovers #Fake Relationship #SecondChance #Novella

I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book. Written in first person from an alternating dual POV, this can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA. Set in a concurrent timeline with Second Time’s a Charm, readers will want to read them both; I promise.

Caden and Sabrina (39) are both recovering from some pretty awful divorces when they meet back up at a high school reunion. Their friendship picks up and I loved how supportive they were of each other. Caden had such a fun personality. He is the guy who is up for anything. Sabrina is comfortable enough with him and I adored the fun they have together. It wasn’t long before they set aside their fears and pursue the chemistry that was always between them.

This was a quick, smexy read that gives both characters a second chance at love.

Book reviews for books read January 19th-24th

Happy weekend! I decided that since I hit 7 books this week I should just go ahead and push this out today. I will read at least one more today but you will see that review next week. I had a gap between ARCs! I went back and finished the Kings of Avalier series that I started in February 2024.  SO GOOD! They are new adult, which is not my norm, but the fantasy realm made them un-put-down-able. I am thrilled to meet the author in Phoenix in a couple of weeks. I read the next book in the J. Saman series I am making my way through. Those Abbot-Fritz brothers are something else. I adore that whole family. I read four novellas with 2 of those being new-to-me authors. Coco Miller's book was a fun billionaire read, and Regine Abel's Prime Mating Agency was GOLD. You will see in my review that I loved this first in series book, and I am super excited to read the rest of them. I read a wonderful mafia novella by Lee Savino. He is truly obsessed with the girl without it being a terri...

Book reviews for books read October 20th-31st

I read two arcs in the second part of October. They were both wonderful reads. Obviously, my personal life has impacted my reading as I only finished 5 books this month. I can't tell you when the last time was that I read so little. The positive part was all of the books I read this month were very good. Until next time, happy reading! Can't Believe You Came (Mile High Matched #5)  by Christina Hovland ARC: Release Date- 10/24/2025 #CinnamonRollHero #OppositesAttract #ARC I am voluntarily writing this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book. It is written in third person, can be read as a standalone, and ends with a HEA. I have loved this series from the beginning. It is wonderful to finally see the last Dvornakov get their HEA. Zach is a cinnamon roll hero to love. He falls first, fast, and hard for Piper. Piper, who is type A personified, does her best to control every situation she is in and Zach is an outlier. His calm and steady presence c...

Book reviews from the week of June 7th

The weekend is almost over as I type this but this is me running behind this week. What a week it has been! I have worked a lot at the job, the hubby had surgery, and we celebrated both my 33rd wedding anniversary and Father's Day.  I read one ARC, two books from my TBR, and one new-to-me author. I have found that after I read a really good book I need to read something a little different to get over the book hangover. That happened twice this week. After I finished the Harlow James ARC, I read an escort book by Leigh James that has been on my kindle for ages. After I read Lyndsey Gallagher's newest release, I started Escort Training which I think I picked up free a while back. That led me down a rabbit hole to reading the whole series. I have decided to review that whole series together as opposed to reviewing each book individually as they are really one story on three stages. It was a fabulous variety of reads this week and now I need to get serious and get back to ARCs. ...
