Book reviews for books read October 20th-31st

I read two arcs in the second part of October. They were both wonderful reads. Obviously, my personal life has impacted my reading as I only finished 5 books this month. I can't tell you when the last time was that I read so little. The positive part was all of the books I read this month were very good.

Until next time, happy reading!

Can't Believe You Came (Mile High Matched #5)

by Christina Hovland

ARC: Release Date- 10/24/2025

#CinnamonRollHero #OppositesAttract #ARC

I am voluntarily writing this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book. It is written in third person, can be read as a standalone, and ends with a HEA.

I have loved this series from the beginning. It is wonderful to finally see the last Dvornakov get their HEA. Zach is a cinnamon roll hero to love. He falls first, fast, and hard for Piper. Piper, who is type A personified, does her best to control every situation she is in and Zach is an outlier. His calm and steady presence completely derails her thoughts about love and commitment. He loves her until she can’t help but admit she loves him back. Her baggage makes her doubt everything, but Zach and the rest of his family show up and prove love is possible.

This was a fun read. I adored Zach and understood Piper. All of the drama as they planned Anna and Drake’s wedding just added to the story. And for the readers who have read the rest of the series: the epilogue by Babushka was the icing on the wedding cake.

Bar Down (Nashville Knights Hockey #4) by Emily Silver

ARC: Release Date-10/24/2025

#AgeGap #Celebrity #CurvyGirl #GrumpyHero #Sports #FriendsToLovers #ARC

I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book. It is written in first person from an alternating dual POV, can be read as a standalone, and ends with a HEA.

Quinn is a pop star, and Jasper is a professional hockey player for the Nashville Knights. Originally, they find each other through a dating app using anonymous usernames. I loved the banter in their messages and how they were able to get to know each other well before they met. There is a little bit of a “You’ve Got Mail” vibe in that one of them figures out who the other one is early on, but it takes the other one a while to figure it out. I love that Quinn is still positive despite being broken by her ex. Jasper has just about given up on love when he falls face first for Quinn. I loved how much he adored her and supported her in a way she had never had before. I adored the cat jokes, the chemistry between the characters, and the subtle references to another real-life pop star romance. I also loved that there was no third act break-up. This was a happy and heart-warming read that closes the series in the very best way.

Book reviews for books read May 3rd - May 10th

Happy weekend!  I read two ARCs this week. They were both very different and both very good. Marika Ray's new book is going to be the perfect summer read. Take it to the lake or the beach and fully enjoy the quirky romance between Maple and Holt. I promise you will adore the meddling seniors along the way. Then I read an arc by a debut author and it knocked  my socks off. When was the last time you got a book hangover from a brand new author? Yeah, it is a rare thing but it happened to me this week.  Check my reviews and add these to your TBR. You wont be sorry. Until next time, happy reading. Anchored by Marika Ray ARC: Release Date- 05/13/2025 #FakeRelationship #ForcedProximity #SmallTown #SecondChance #ARC I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book. This standalone is written in first person from an alternating dual POV and ends with a HEA. Maple (32) is having a crisis of confidence due to many factors when sh...

Book reviews for books read May 11th-25th

I read three ARCs and 2 books from my TBR in the last 2 weeks. I feel good about that considering that life at home has been pretty full lately. May has been an excellent reading month for me. There are so many good releases right now, it is impossible for me to keep up. These are all worth adding to your TBR. Check my reviews and add them to your list. Until next time, happy reading. Built To Last (Park Avenue Promise #3) by Lexi Blake ARC: Release Date- 05/27/2025 #EnemiesToLovers #Celebrity #Workplace  #ARC I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book. This is the third book in the series, and it is written in first person from Harper’s POV. This book is driven heavily by dialogue, and I personally did not miss having the male POV. Though it fully contains the love story of Harper and Reid, I think readers will gain the most value from reading this series in order. The friendship and found family relationship between Ivy, ...

Book reviews for books read April 27th- May 3rd

Happy weekend! I got a little behind as far as month end wrap up goes but I did read four ARCs this week.  They were all just what I needed. A hockey romance with close proximity, a billionaire surprise pregnancy, an erotic romance with emotional depth, and a reclusive rock star with a heavy side of treasure hunt: they made my week a happy one. Check out my reviews and add these to your TBR. Until next time, happy reading. The Playmaker (Nashville Knights Hockey #2)  by Emily Silver ARC: Release Date 05/02/2025 #SingleDad #Sports #ARC I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book. The Playmaker is written in first person from an alternating dual POV. As the second book in an interconnected series the story stands alone and ends with a HEA. Because characters from book one do play integral roles in Stevie and Bode's story, some readers may want to read book one first even though it is not necessary for the plot of book two...
