Book reviews for books read November 8th-23rd

In November so far I have visited Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Utah, and my home state of Colorado. I helped my daughter paint and ready her first home and helped mov her in. I visited with most of my family. And I have spent time off-roading with my husband in our bronco. I also worked a few shifts at the job that pays me and have tried to keep my household running with limited success.  As a result, my reading has suffered. I did manage to read three ARCs on time, and these are those reviews. I hope you get a chance to check out the new holiday romances by Piper Rayne and Emily Silver. If you haven't read the Alchemy series yet by Elodie Hart, it is now complete and includes Always Alchemy. This is a wonderful book detailing the ever after of all of the Alchemy characters and it was feel good all the way.  Dive in.  Check out my reviews and and these to your TBR. You wont be sorry.

Merry Kissmas by Piper Rayne

ARC: Release Date- 11/19/2024

#Holiday #SecondChance #ForcedProximity #ARC

Written in first person from an alternating dual POV, this can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA.

Brynn is a successful, creative woman. I love that she pursues a job option to see if it fits her. I love that she finds her dream. I adored her family. Her parents were the absolute best. Her brothers were hilarious in how they mess with her and each other. This is a competitive family. What could be better than a big family Christmas at a Utah resort? Adding in a series of holiday games, of course. I laughed more than once as I was reading.

Pierce sees Brynn as the one that got away. Tal, handsome, and British he is the perfect hero for Brynn. When he ends up spending the holidays with her family, he decides to convince her to give him a second chance. It takes a little time as they work together to overcome the hurts from the past before moving forward. This was a little bit of a slow burn without the third act break up. It was a fun and swoony read just in time for the holiday season.

Merry in Moose Falls by Emily Silver

ARC: Release Date- 11/21/2024

Written in first person from an alternating dual POV, this is a standalone that ends with a HEA.

Charlie has been in love with his best friend for many years. He has pined and wished from afar that his straight friend was the man for him. When Brooks goes through a messy divorce and ends up staying with Charlie, he begins to see Charie in a way he hadn’t before. I loved how open Brooks was to exploring his new feelings with Charlie.

This was a steamy sweet holiday novella. I could see this being a book to reread each year. It has all the Hallmark Christmas vibes, so much pining, and plenty of heat.  Charlie and Brooks were delightful together both as friends and as lovers. I loved how affectionate they are with each other. Truly, one of the best holiday romance reads of the year.

Always Alchemy: An Ever After Book (Alchemy #7)

by Elodie Hart

ARC: Release Date 11/21/2024

I am without words for how much I have loved this entire series.

Written in first person from multiple POV, this book is a beautiful peek into the lives of the Alchemy characters we have grown to love in their HEA. We get to see so many milestones. We are reminded that the effort to make our ever after a happy one is worth it. This book will make you laugh, cry, swoon, and sweat. With all the emotion and heat we have come to expect, this was the perfect wrap up for this series.

Book reviews from the week of June 7th

The weekend is almost over as I type this but this is me running behind this week. What a week it has been! I have worked a lot at the job, the hubby had surgery, and we celebrated both my 33rd wedding anniversary and Father's Day.  I read one ARC, two books from my TBR, and one new-to-me author. I have found that after I read a really good book I need to read something a little different to get over the book hangover. That happened twice this week. After I finished the Harlow James ARC, I read an escort book by Leigh James that has been on my kindle for ages. After I read Lyndsey Gallagher's newest release, I started Escort Training which I think I picked up free a while back. That led me down a rabbit hole to reading the whole series. I have decided to review that whole series together as opposed to reviewing each book individually as they are really one story on three stages. It was a fabulous variety of reads this week and now I need to get serious and get back to ARCs. ...

Book reviews for books read January 1st-10th

Happy weekend and Happy 2025! I am starting the year strong. I have read 3 ARCs, 1 full-length novel, and 3 more novellas so far this year. The 3 ARCs were all fun reads, the next book in the Boston Billionaire Bachelors series was a fun ride, and the three monster novellas were still an enjoyable escape from reality.  I am traveling unexpectedly this month after my dad was hospitalized.  I will spend the next week in West Virginia helping my brother and helping my dad get some strength back before I return home. I am hopeful that means some dedicated reading time while I am here since there is no shortage of snow. Until next week, happy reading. Book reviews for books read October 20th-31st

I read two arcs in the second part of October. They were both wonderful reads. Obviously, my personal life has impacted my reading as I only finished 5 books this month. I can't tell you when the last time was that I read so little. The positive part was all of the books I read this month were very good. Until next time, happy reading! Can't Believe You Came (Mile High Matched #5)  by Christina Hovland ARC: Release Date- 10/24/2025 #CinnamonRollHero #OppositesAttract #ARC I am voluntarily writing this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book. It is written in third person, can be read as a standalone, and ends with a HEA. I have loved this series from the beginning. It is wonderful to finally see the last Dvornakov get their HEA. Zach is a cinnamon roll hero to love. He falls first, fast, and hard for Piper. Piper, who is type A personified, does her best to control every situation she is in and Zach is an outlier. His calm and steady presence c...
