Book reviews from the week of December 25th

Happy weekend and happy almost new year!  This week I read three ARCs, two of which were novellas, for books releasing early in 2023.  I also read two new to me authors that have been on my list for a while.  And if Zoe Chant has any doubts, her Facebook ads pulled me in for reading now instead of later. I will have year end wrap up coming, so I will keep this short.  Check out my reviews and see if these are books you need to add to your TBR.  I think you will be adding them.  Have a Happy New Year and a great week reading! Tapped by the Rockstar (Mile High Rocked #4)  by Christina Hovland ARC: Release Date- 1/1/2023 #RockStar #ARC 4 STARS This is book 4 of the Mile High Matched series but it can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA.  It is written in third person from an alternating dual POV. I have been waiting for Tanner’s book.  A rock star who is awkward with pretty women?  Oh, yeah!  This book allows readers to get to know him better.  We learn the origin of his a

Book reviews for the week of December 18th

This was a crazy-busy week with holidays, a quick, but unplanned, cross-country trip, and a full work week. I was able to read one ARC, listen to one audiobook, and read five novellas.  The prequel to Piper Rayne's new series is the perfect set up, and book one does an excellent job following through with a HEA while setting up future books.  Chelle Sloan's holiday novella was a fun read with a satirical twist.  Special Delivery was a reread via audiobook for me and a first time listen for the hubby as we drove across the country last week.  The duet narration was impeccable and really brought the story to life. I have had Her Wolf by Fiona Davenport on my kindle for ages and I finally got to read it.  Then I couldn't stop until I had read the next two books which detail the stories of her best friends. I recommend all of these reads and I hope my reviews can help you determine if you need to add them to your list.  Until next time, happy reading. False Start (Kingsmen Fo

Book reviews from the week of December 11th

Happy weekend! The holidays are upon us and it has been a busy week.  I read two ARCs, three novellas, and two books from my TBR this week (one of which I read as a combination read & listen).  I also finally finished the Roan Parrish audiobook  I started before Thanksgiving.  I think there is a little something for everyone.  Three of these books were new-to-me authors an now I have some new favorites.  In a follow up to last week's post, one of these (A Holiday Lift) was actually a paperback I had on my shelf that I picked up in Philly.  I am hopeful my reviews will help you decide which ones you might like to add to your TBR. Happy reading!  Illegal Contact (Denver Mountain Lions #4) by Emily Silver ARC: Release Date- 12/22/2022 #Sports #Forbidden #Workplace #AgeGap #OWYM #ARC 5 STARS This is book 4 in the series, but it can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA.  It is written in first person from an alternating dual POV. I have been waiting for Knox’s story.  I

Book reviews for the week of December 4th and "Paperback Goals"

Happy weekend!  This week was a strange one for me.  I got my second booster of the Covid vaccine, and it knocked me for a loop for a day.  On top of that I worked an extra nightshift to cover a sick call.  That always feels like it takes two days instead of one.   I did read two ARCs this week.  Both of them will release in the coming week.  Take a look.  I am hopeful that my reviews will help you determine to add them to your TBR. I am currently reading my first paperback book in over a year.  Normally, I read on my kindle.   Some things I have discovered while doing this are: Tapping the page does not turn a paper page.  I am unable to change the font size of the book. My finger cannot highlight paper. If I tap a word on a page, the built in dictionary does not pop up. I need a lamp or good lighting to read since I cannot adjust the brightness of the page. I get to use an actual bookmark (which I seem to be collecting a lot of lately) and it is kind of cool. I didn't have to r

Book reviews from the week of November 27th

Happy weekend!  I worked at my job a lot this week but I still managed to read five ARCs including one new-to-me author.  All of these books have been or will be released between 11/29 and 12/8.  This was a wonderful reading week for me.  The newest release by the Stewart/Ray team is a sweet and funny small town romance that would make a fabulous Hallmark movie.  Just One Taste by Carly Phillips is everything you want in an age-gap, billionaire romance. Melanie Moreland's latest was an incredible read with one of the swoon-iest heroes ever.  Target Man by Annie Dyer has Jesse, who manages to be both dominant and vulnerable at the same time.  (Keep your fan ready.) And finally, I read the upcoming release by S. Jones.  She is a new-to-me author and I loved her sports romance that starts with a smoking hot one night stand.   I seriously can't complain about being able to read these fantastic books before they released.  I am going to try to do a better job highlighting favori
