I loved the small town. Mercy has big dreams and what she comes to learn is that sometimes dreams change without becoming smaller. Both characters are pretty young. They both mature some over the course of their relationship. I love the heat between them and how attached they become to each other without realizing it. I love that Shane allows Mercy to pursue her dream and that he doesn't stifle her.
This was a nice small town read that I really enjoyed. I can't wait to read more.

This standalone is connected to some of the author’s other
books set in Fayhill, Texas, but only through reappearing characters. It can be read as a standalone. It is written
in first person from an alternating dual POV.
Willa has had to work hard to overcome a setback. She
finally has her life in order and has settled into a job she loves in a small
town near her best friend, Mercy. Clay
arrives in Fayhill as a consultant. He has worked and traveled tirelessly for a
while, and he is beginning to think he may be missing something. When he meets
Willa, the attraction is instant.
This was a sweet but steamy novella set around the holidays.
Fayhill is a wonderful small-town setting that I really enjoyed. I loved Willa’s determination to succeed
despite obstacles in her way. I liked Clay and how he falls for Willa. There is heat and humor in this fun holiday
small-town read.

As part of the Happy
Cat Box set release, I had the opportunity to review the new novella, Happily
Ever Aftered. In addition to that
review, I have also copied in my previous reviews for the rest of the books in
the set.

This quick novella
takes readers back to Happy cat for Savannah to finally get her HEA with Colin.
I loved seeing Happy cat through Colin’s stuffy British eyes. He is charming and a little blown away by
everything Happy Cat has to offer. His
daughter, Beatrice, is adorable. Savannah
wants her HEA so bad she almost doesn’t let Colin give it to her, but when they
finally have a conversation, their love is obvious. I love the heat, the humor, the romance, and the
town characters. I really appreciated how their HEA is perfect for them and
super sweet. George Cooney and Nutquacker have cameos and we even meet a new
animal along the way. I also loved the allusion to Peter Rabbit in the
epilogue. A quick enjoyable read, this was the perfect cap on the Happy Cat
book series.

This book was the funny ROM-com I expected from these two authors. Hot fire
fighter, geeky virgin heroine, a sex toy factory, and a raccoon; this book
couldn't help but be funny. The romance between the hot and sweet H and the
smart and feisty h was developed without any contrived angst. Yes, there was a
moment when they doubted each other, but as part of a larger story line. There
was never any doubt in my mind that they would find their way back to each
other because their love and heat was so strong. I loved Ryan and his heart,
strong character, and desire/need to take care of others.
He is a hot and sweet book boyfriend.

The chemistry between Olivia and Jace is magnetic. Olivia is a fun, sweet,
kooky character, and I just loved her. Jace is trying so hard to be more that
he doesn't realize that he is enough.
The story brings us back to Happy Cat, GA and we get to know the O'Dell
brothers a little better as a set up for the next two books. I love the
supportive friendships that are developing between the ladies. The scene where
Olivia kidnaps the groom is laugh out loud funny. No book where Pippa Grant is
involved would be complete without a menagerie of animals and we are introduced
to hedgehogs and alpacas but also get a fair amount of George Cooney.
I really enjoyed this book.

Blake and Hope are two of my
favorite characters from Happy Cat. Hope can destroy electrical things and
Blake is frequently the one who end up fixing them. The characters are
developed with their distinct personalities and motivations. Their chemistry is
amazing! You can feel the magnetism that draws them to each other. The banked
and potent emotions between the characters leap off the page.
There are alpacas, raccoons, hedgehogs and more in
the crazy, little town of Happy Cat. The O’Dell family relationship is strong,
and the reader gets to know baby brother Clint a little better. I really
enjoyed this book. The authors have a way with a phrase that makes a reader
laugh out loud. I loved the hero of this book because he is just such an
all-around good guy- and hot! He could rescue me any day.
Go back to Happy Cat, Georgia, with this book, #3
in the series, and you will not be sorry.

Clint and Noelle’s story makes up
Happy Cat book # 4 but can read as a standalone. Clint is a marine and he IS
all that. (The Clint O’Dell memes are priceless.) Noelle is recovering from
some bad luck and is trying to start over with her business, Second Chance
Cupcakes, in Happy Cat. There are shenanigans, animal chaos, and typical Happy
Cat craziness throughout the story.
Clint has the biggest heart and the happiest
outlook ever. It is his choice to be happy and we can all learn from it. Noelle
is trying so hard, but a series of events to sabotage her bakery are making it
difficult. I love how protective Clint is of Noelle. I love the heat they
create when Noelle decides to give him a chance. I really appreciated that
Noelle understood the life of being family to active-duty personnel. I also
really liked that these authors understand the military and do not make the
silly mistakes you often see in military romance. An example of this is Clint’s
reaction to new orders. He understood his commitment and there was no
unrealistic whining about what he must do. (Ooh-Rah) I also really appreciate
that Noelle makes educated choices when choosing Clint, knowing what that means
to her personally.
I liked this book a lot. Part of that is all about
Clint and part of that is the zany comedy included. This book made me smile and
it is an excellent addition to anyone’s holiday reading this season. Don’t miss
this one.

I downloaded this book in July when it released. I was so excited to get Yuna's story. Then it got pushed down the TBR by ARCs and other books. I finally got to read it. Though many characters from other books appear in this book, it can be read as a standalone. It is written in first person from an alternating dual POV.
I wondered who Yuna would end up with but I never anticipated Declan. A billionaire on his own, famous for modeling and acting, he does not need anything from Yuna except her heart and her love. Yuna has been looking for a way out of an arranged marriage that her parents want. She wants a marriage based on love.
Declan and Yuna have chemistry galore. They form a friendship that becomes so much more. This book has humor and heat. I love Yuna and her friends. Declan grows a lot through this book. He learns what to prioritize in his life and I adore when he will do anything for Yuna.
This is not a quick read. (360 pages) There is a lot of Korean culture woven throughout the story. The author is kind enough to provide the reader with notes at the beginning and some additional notes at the end, which could have made spoilers. How the Korean culture influences Yuna's character and reactions was fascinating to me. Overall, I felt like the book tells a complete story that has depth and characters you need to find their HEA together.

I just finished listening to the audiobook of this wonderful story. Teddy Hamilton and Virginia Rose are perfection as West and Daisy. The dual alternating narration felt fluid and both narrators did an excellent job with both characters. I really cannot imagine how this could have been any better.
This billionaire, single dad, inherited baby romance is the fourth book in the Bluewater Billionaire series and can be read as a standalone. West and Daisy seem to be an unlikely pair but they each offer the other something that is missing from their life. West has recently retired from the marines and he definitely needs some love and some fun in his life. Daisy needs West's help when they inherit a baby together and he offers her something she did not know she needed: unconditional love. Together they work through their differences and some scorching chemistry as they both fall head over heels with baby Remy and each other. I appreciated all the new parent feels that each of them experience including feelings of inadequacy, fear of failure, unfathomable love for a helpless being, and the unavoidable sleep deprivation. I loved Daisy's sharp sense of humor and West's steady, strong, presence. I really enjoyed the play on names relating to the Princess Bride: instead of Westley and Buttercup we get Westley and Daisy. This Westley also shares a heroic heart and a wicked sense of humor in his peasant self as he rescues his Princess valiantly several times throughout the story. My geek self just loved this. This book has all the things you expect from a Pippa Grant book and I cheered when these two got their HEA. I really enjoyed this series and the way the billionaire trope gave all the power to the heroine. I loved how the heroes were all men in their late 30's and 40's who had maturity, strength and character to be with powerful, successful women without feeling the need to tear them down in order to build themselves up. I loved how they recognized the women's strength and it was something that attracted them instead of something that scared them away. As a side note I loved the Drag Queen Brunch with the romance authors. It was a twist I've never seen in another book or series and I found the peek into how authors relate very insightful and entertaining. Thank you, ladies for an awesome series full of fun, friendship, humor, and steam. |
