Book reviews from the week of December 26th

I only read three books this week, but they were all 5 star reads so I cannot complain.  I finished an ARC of Kate Canterbary's new release.  Wow! What a read! I have been waiting for Stremmel's story for a while and I was not disappointed.  I also was able to read two books from my TBR.  Nadia Lee's book has been on there since it released.  The heroine, Becca, has a special condition that I have only read about before when it was used as a punchline to a joke.  This book brought to light how difficult that condition could be for the person experiencing it and I adored Becca and her resilience.  Finally I was able to read Melanie Harlow's newest book.  When I saw firefighter, single dad, age gap, I knew I had to read it.  I loved the relationship Dex and Winnie build and his girls were adorable. This has been a weird year in real life, but a good year reading.  I will be posting a recap/best of blog post soon.  As we start a new year, I only hope that we continue to

Book reviews from the week of December 19th

This was a good week of reading.  I had a five star week despite working 50 hours and every books was just what I needed to relax and celebrate the holidays.  His Heart by Claire Kingsley has been on my list for a while.  I knew I would want to reread Heart of Hope by Lucy Score when I did so that I could also read the heart of Christmas follow up stories together.  I finally got my chance this week. I cannot recommend reading these enough!  I also was finally able to read the merry Ever After anthology and a short novella by Roxie Noir.  Both were available for free through  the author's newsletters. These short holiday reads were perfect for keeping a merry spirit.  I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season.  Happy Reading! His Heart by Claire Kingsley #Sports #NewAdult 5 STARS I am not sure where to start with this review of a book that is like no other. It is written in first person from an alternating dual POV. It is a standalone. It does have a HEA, though at times I w

Book reviews from the week of December 12th

I had a busy week with lots of errands and appointments. I was so happy that I was still able to get some reading in with the craziness of the holidays.  I read a short ARC by Pippa Grant and Lili Valente that will be released with the Happy Cat box set later this month. It is always good to visit Happy Cat and I was thrilled for Savannah to get her HEA. I also received an ARC of Andrea Johnston's new release. I had only read one of her books prior to meeting her in Dallas in September at the Holidays with the Belles signing. I was looking forward to reading more of her books and when I met her she is one of the kindest, most genuine, funniest ladies: I knew her books would be moving up my TBR. Prior to reading her ARC, I visited the small town of  Fayhill to read Mercy and Shane's story since Mercy is Willa's best friend.  Though each book stands alone, they were a enjoyable companion read for me and I really felt like I got to know the town. I have had Nadia Lee's

Book reviews from the week of December 5th

One of my favorite things about December is the abundance of short and steamy holiday reads.  Every year it seems like I add hundreds to my TBR and then I am able to get to a few of them.  This year twelve authors have come together to release the "12 days of Kissmas" series and I was able to read two of those this week.  For short steamy fun, they fit the bill to a T.  Last year, I added "In a Holidaze" by Christina Lauren after so many other readers raved about it.  When it went on sale this year, I grabbed it and moved it up the list of my holiday reading. Whitley Cox's single dad series has been on my list for a while, and when I saw that a couple of her books fit a reading challenge requirement I quickly downloaded one and read it. Emmett was a little neurotic and he finds his perfect match with Zara. Last year I added "The Christmas Pact" to my list but did not get to it. This year, I was able to listen to the audiobook while doing some much need

Book reviews from the week of November 28th

As we wrap up November and move into December, I am here for the holiday reads.  I was able to read a Christmas and a Hanukkah book this week as well as two ARCs and a couple of books I used to meet the a November reading challenge at the last minute.  Three of these books were new to me authors and I know I will be reading more of their work.  I always love finding new authors from friend recommendations.  I had a great week and I am looking forward to a festive month ahead.  Happy reading! A Partridge and a Pregnancy (Holiday Brothers #3)  by Willa Nash #Holiday #SurpiseBaby #SecondChance 4 STARS Tobias and Eva spent all of college as an inseparable couple until they didn’t.  Their second chance is written in first person from an alternating dual POV. Though this is the third book in the series, it can be read as a standalone, despite overlapping timelines with the first two books. For someone so successful, Eva has a few quirks. Tobias is rock-steady, and I love that about
