Book reviews for the week of October 24th

I had a fabulous week reading with 3 ARCs (including an anthology of nine novellas) and one book on my TBR.  I was thrilled to read Toni Aleo for the first time as I prepare to meet authors at Indies Invade Philly.  I am hooked on her hockey series and I can't wait to read more.  Piper Rayne's next book in the Greene family allows jed to finally become the man I knew he could be. Stephanie Rose's addition to the All America Boys series allows our heroine to fall for her best friend's brother who is five years younger.  Their romance is sweet and steamy and was a perfect read.  Finally I read the Snowed Inn for Christmas Anthology.  Some of these authors were new to me, but I will certainly be reading more by them.  If you grab one Christmas anthology this year, you will want to get this one.  It is a cohesive story of nine couples whose characters overlap into the the other books.  Santa brought some Christmas magic to Winter Falls and...

Book reviews for the week of October 17th

Last week I had no ARCs to read then they started pouring in.  This week I have completed four ARCs and I am working on an anthology that is the fifth.  The review for that will be in next week's post.  This was an enjoyable week reading new characters from continuing series and one book from a new series that is a spin off.  It was like meeting characters I had met before, but really getting to know them this time.  Overall I had a good week.  I hope the reviews help you determine some new books to add to your own TBR.  Happy reading! Hellion (The King Cousins #3) by K. D. Elizabeth ARC: Release Date- 10/22/2021 #SmallTown #FriendsToLovers #OppositesAttract #FamilySeries #ARC 5 STARS Book three of the King Cousins series can be read as a standalone. Book Blog Tour: "Sealed with a Kiss" by Erin Nicholas

What’s a girl to do when her celebrity crush needs her to be his fake girlfriend?   Sealed With a Kiss, an all-new romantic comedy filled with heated chemistry from New York Times bestselling author Erin Nicholas is available now!  Blurb: Keep her damned feelings to herself, of course. Child TV star turned adult wallflower Naomi LeClaire has vowed never to return to the spotlight. But when she’s stuck in a storm with Donovan Foster, the hot, charming, wild-life rescuing internet sensation, and she finally gives in and kisses him...and a few articles of clothing end up on the floor...suddenly her simple, quiet life is tossed upside down.   Especially after the paparazzi catches a heat-of-the-moment kiss. Now everyone assumes she's his girlfriend and, when she realizes that’s the best way to keep Donovan out of trouble, Naomi agrees to play along. Even though it puts her center stage with her private life in very public view. Again.   They’re a w...

Book reviews from the week of October 10th

This is the first week in forever I do not have ARCs in review.  The result is that I was able to read six books by authors I will meet at the Indies Invade Philly event next month.  In addition, I read several short stories written by other attending authors.  Reviews for the short stories will come later after I have completed reading the anthologies as part of the anthology reviews.  I love finding new authors and I certainly found some new favorites this week.  My TBR just keeps growing.  (I hope I have enough life to read all these books.)  I feel like I am getting more used to audio books.  In addition to reading K. Loraine's All the Queen's Men, I listened to it on audio.  IT IS AMAZING! The all-star cast brought the story to life in a way I absolutely appreciated.  I adored that there are multiple narrators in each chapter, making it almost like radio theatre.  I am so glad I bought it because I can see myself  l...

Book reviews for the week of October 3rd

I had an incredible and record setting reading week.  I read sic ARCs, one book club book through KU Read & Listen, and two books from my TBR.  I am trying to read new-to-me authors that I will meet at the Indies Invade Philly event in November.  I have come to realize that I probably will not get to all the authors I haven't read in time for the event.  My new strategy is to read novellas (especially if they are in KU) and short stories from different anthologies for as many of the authors as I can.  What that means for reviews is that the short story reviews will not be available until I finish the anthology, so those will come to the blog later.  This week had something for everyone from romantic comedy to romantic suspense.  There are a few books from family series.  There is a MC romance and Melanie Moreland's next release is almost mafia romance but with a twist.  There are several alpha heroes, which I adore.  Single mo...
