Book reviews from the week of August 22nd

What a fantastic week of reading I have had!  There are some truly memorable characters in this week's reads.  I was fortunate to read  four ARCs and two additional books.  I was impressed by Bella Matthews debut novel, which I picked up in preparation of attending Indies Invade Philly in November. She was a new-to me author. I am trying to read many of the authors participating in upcoming signings if I have not read them yet.  I also pulled Bad Prince from by Kindle library to meet the requirement of a story retelling for a book reading challenge.  This twist on Cinderella was really delightful.  Lauren Blakely's final installment of the Men of Summer series was full of the love and romance that make a real relationship work.  I adore Grant and Declan. JH Croix's new novel that starts a brand new series and carries all of the small town feels, hotshot firefighters, and a single dad doing his best with a teenage daughter. Stephanie Rose outdid herself with her addition t

Book reviews from the week of August 15th

I have been playing tourist with my son who is visiting and as a result I managed to read only two ARCs this week.  Both of these books release on 8/27 and they were both really good reads.  I hope everyone is enjoying the remainder of the summer and fitting in some good books along the way.  Happy reading! Take Me to Bali (Take Me Abroad #1) by K.D. Elizabeth ARC: Release Daye- 8/27/2021 #EnemiesToLovers #RomanticSuspense #ARC 5 STARS Written in first person from an alternating dual POV, this book was a treat.  I had to put it down once for dinner, and it was difficult.  This is the first book in a new series by this author and it ends with a HEA. Pippa has been traveling the world with just a backpack since she finished high school over a decade ago.  Schiller left his family’s business to focus on diving more than ten years ago.  These two characters have similarities in their motivations, their pasts, and their desire to be independent while seeking what truly makes them happy.

Book reviews from the week of August 8th

Happy weekend! My adult son is visiting us for a couple of weeks and I have been playing tour guide.  We have done a lot of fun things this week and I was still able to read three books.  I read one ARC; and Jackie Walker's next release had me laughing out loud as usual.  I also read two new-to-me authors in preparation for the Holidays with the Belles book signing in Dallas next month.  Both were enjoyable reads and I look forward to reading more of their work in the future.  I hope you have an amazing next week.  Happy reading! Love & Other Trouble (Love & Laughs)  by Jackie Walker ARC: Release Date- 8/17/2021 #SingleDad #RomanticComedy #FamilySeries #ARC 5 STARS Jackie Walker has another winner in this book.  CJ Amos finally finds a man who deserves her in Archer Bliss.  Their story is written in first person from an alternating dual POV. Book reviews from the week of August 1st

What a week! I read 2 ARCs, 1 new release, and 1 book from my TBR.  Maria Luis does not disappoint with the second installment of the Broken Crown trilogy.  I am desperately waiting for the third book, which will release soon.  Mae Wood adds to Sarina Bowen's True North world with a lovely small town romance between mature characters that I completely enjoyed.  Piper Rayne's next addition to the Hockey Hotties series gave me a Russian defender named Maksim, and I fell hard for the big guy. Finally, Annika Marin's next book delivered a grumpy, hot, geek, billionaire who falls hard for a sunshine-infused dancer.  I enjoyed my week and I hope these reviews help you determine what could be next to add to your TBR.  Happy reading.
