St. Patrick's Day and my birthday were this week. Also, the hubby got sick and we were quarantined at home all week while I took care of him. Despite the constant interruptions, I was able to read 5 ARCs and 2 short books that were in my library that I had not read yet. There are so many good releases this month, I am seriously impressed. Check out my reviews and pick up your next read. My goal is always to add to your TBR from my extremely long personal one.

This was by first book by this author and I really enjoyed
it. It is written in first person from a
dual POV.
Tobias is a grumpy cowboy who is trying to run his ranch
after losing his parents. He has money
from his previous career, and a low tolerance for those who don’t meet his
expectations. He has a heart for family
and would love to find the right woman and have a bunch of kids to fill his
lonely house. I loved that he is
tough, yet tender. I loved his strength,
physical and emotional. I really adored
that he fell for Ava at first sight and was a little goofy about it. He is possessive and a little alpha and
exactly what I needed to read today.
Ava is on the run.
She is beautiful, smart, and determined. I love how safe she feels
around Tobias. I love the passion they
share: their chemistry is strong and hot.
I love when she allows Tobias to take care of her. I really enjoyed her
character and how she also looks after Tobias.
The book has some suspense elements, some humor, and plenty of heat. Ava is running from an abusive situation, so some readers may want to be aware of that if it is a trigger for them. I thought it was handled very gently with the focus on Ava’s feelings rather than the physical harm. I look forward to reading more books by this author and more books from the Big Sky Universe. Who doesn’t love a good cowboy romance?

An enchanting romance that seems impossible.
This book is different from any other I have read by this
author. In fact, it is unlike any book I
have read at all. But I loved it and I
could not put it down. It is written in
first person almost entirely from Julien’s POV.
Do you believe that art is powerful? Do you believe that the
emotions stirred by art are real? Do you believe that muses are powerful and
can inspire artists to create their most moving works? Do you believe that art can be more than just
a painting, a song, a poem, or a dance?
If so, then THIS is your book.
Julien is a hero who believes in the power of what is
possible. He believes strongly in the
love and emotion that art can generate.
He is a good man, with an open mind and an open heart. He finds love where he never expected to find
it. He is willing to sacrifice
everything for the one he loves. I love
his friends and the support they offer him.
I love his heart and his willingness to do the right thing when it is
unbearable.
This book is full of magic and wonder. It offers a gorgeous tour of famous art
pieces throughout the world. Music and
art history are delicately interwoven into a love story that defies probability
and where a happy ending seems impossible.
Suspend your disbelief and open your mind to a love story that overcomes
all odds to a beautiful happily ever after.
You just have to keep reading to discover how that can be. I loved its
originality and I definitely recommend it if you like a love story that is so
different from any other.
This was my second book by this author, and I loved it. It is written in third person from dual POV. This is book three in a series, but functions
completely as a standalone. I have not
yet read the other books, but I can assure you they are now added to my
ever-growing TBR.
I love the way Paisley and Ty reconnect unexpectedly after
18 years. I love that they still have
chemistry with each other that is smoking hot.
I love that Paisley is still an optimist after a lot of time and failed
relationships. I love that their history
and the friendship they had grounds them in the present. Ty is still figuring out civilian life after
he left the Army and his career as a Ranger.
He has grief, survivor’s guilt, and some horrific memories that he is
still dealing with. I love that he
recognizes that he is not where he needs to be, yet he is struggling to move
forward. I love how patient Paisley is
with him. I also want to mention
Paisley’s dog, Duke. I completely adore him,
and he is such a good boy. I want one
just-like him.
There are some seriously swoon-y moments in this book. The characters are well-developed and likable. The pacing of the story is just-right. I had trouble putting it down to do those necessary life things that get in the way of reading a good book. There is heat in the bedroom and suspenseful moments. I love Paisley’s ability to stay calm in the face of danger and Ty’s commitment to protect her. The HEA is absolutely perfect. I wouldn’t change anything about this book, and I can’t wait to read more.

Jude is a corporate warrior sent to scope out the next deal
in advance. Nathan is the owner of the
bar and the bourbon label deal. When
they meet, the attraction is instant and intense. After a hook up, they are surprised to learn
they will work together closely for the next month. With the forced proximity, they cannot resist
each other.
I loved Nathan. He was a charming, flirtatious playboy who was always up for a good time. He has an excellent sense of humor, a dirty mouth, and the ability to take charge of a situation. Essentially, he is catnip for Jude. She comes across as cold and uptight initially, but underneath it is a woman who loves to laugh but doesn’t allow her real self to be exposed very often. I adored her desire to uphold her integrity and good character in the deal. (Her boss is an evil guy). I love the heat between the two of them: seriously hot stuff. I love that they share vulnerabilities with each other. I love Nathan’s family and all their issues. I love the small town of Ovid, GA, and all the small-town dynamics that are at play. I felt like the characters were well-developed and I enjoyed their relationships with the secondary characters. I appreciated that I could see both sides during the black moment and I loved the HEA. This is not the first book in this series of interconnected standalones, and I have not yet read the previous books. It read completely fine by itself without reading the others. (Though now I really want to read the books about the other brothers). I cannot wait for Noah’s book; I am extremely intrigued with him. This book is written in first person with a dual POV.

This book one in the Sisters from Hell series and it is a
standalone story of Oakley and Wyatt. It
is written in first person from a dual POV.
I loved Oakley. She
is a tough cookie with a heart that is softer than she realizes. I love how competent she is with her
job. I love that she is committed to her
career, her integrity, and 100% honesty.
I appreciated how becoming involved with Wyatt was difficult for her in
relation to that. I loved Wyatt and that
he always saw Oakley for the wonderful woman she is while respecting her
completely as a cop and his Captain. I
loved his commitment to starting over from his past and being a good guy who makes
a good life for himself. The heat and
attraction between the two characters is strong and intense. I adored their chemistry and the physical
side of their relationship. I love their
banter and the way they get along while pushing each other’s boundaries.
I loved the story of partners who become so much more. The calls they have to go out on as cops run
from really funny to dangerous. I
enjoyed the interactions with Oakley’s sisters and parents immensely. The softball league is a bonus. I also enjoyed seeing friends from Hell who
starred in their own books previously. Humor,
steam, witty banter, and secrets to be revealed made this book a winner and I
recommend everyone get to know the sisters from Hell.
I thoroughly enjoyed this short story about the bad boy and the good girl. It is written in first person from a dual POV. This opposites-attract, billionaire romance packs some heat. I really enjoyed Selby. Her innocence and her optimism about Carter was fun. Carter starts out as a jerk but he falls hard and fast, which I always love. With an epic proposal and a cute HEA, this was a fun read. |
3.5 STARS This was a cute and steamy short story between the boss and the nanny and it opens with them already in love, but they have not admitted it yet. I found the little girl adorable and the characters likable. I enjoyed the story I just wish there had been more of it. This is written in first person from a dual POV. |
