Max Monroe books always make me laugh. I have been waiting for Garrett to get his
HEA since Single Dad Seeks Juliet. As
the best friend of Jake from the ocean, he captured more than his fair share of
my attention. I am thrilled that he
found his perfect woman in Lauren.
Garrett is all kinds of swoon-worthy. Hotter than the fires he fights, devoted to
his 12-year-old twins, intelligent, kind, and ready to laugh at the things
around him; I couldn’t help but love him.
Lauren seriously did not stand a chance.
She is strong, independent, intelligent, giving and the perfect woman
for Garrett. I love that they both have
an instant attraction from the beginning of their awkward meet cute. I love that life kept putting them in each
other’s path until they gave in and went for it. I love the relationships that Lauren forms
with Garrett’s kids and even with his ex.
I adore that Holley becomes good friends with Lauren and that the two
couples spend time together through the story.
It was nearly impossible to put this book down. Humor (of course) that made me laugh out loud throughout the book, chemistry and hot-as-Hades heat between Lauren and Garrett, and exceptional secondary characters make this a book you do not want to miss. I hope Max Monroe never stops writing because I can see at least six other books they can spin from other characters in this book alone. I honestly cannot get enough of their fun, swoony, sexy, love stories. The characters always feel like friends because they are so dang real. I always look forward to whatever they come up with and I was not disappointed in the least with this latest offering. I will share with Lauren, but I am claiming Garrett as mine.
This was a sweet and steamy novella about Emma and her
brother’s best friend, Noah. It is
written in first person from a dual POV.
Noah has just been discharged from the army. Between his two tours in Afghanistan and his
crappy childhood, he knows he has baggage, and he does not believe that he is
good enough for Emma. Emma is ready to
do something wild. She decides to give
in to her long crush and have a wild night with Noah. What she doesn’t know is that the wildest
thing she will ever do is fall head over heels in love.
I love that Noah is a good guy who tries to resist
temptation. I love that Emma is not
easily deterred in achieving her goal. I
love how a storm places them together at the perfect time to figure things
out. The little town of Sweetheart,
Colorado sounds like an interesting place.
My only regret is that I did not get to spend more time reading about
these wonderful characters due to the short book length.

A rock god walked into a bar…….and stole Becca’s heart when
she was not looking. This is book one of
a new rock star romance series. It
contains a HEA and can be read as a standalone.
It is written in third person from a dual POV.
Linx (Cedric Lincoln) is one of the members of the hugely
successful rock band Dimefront.
Unfortunately, his band is in the middle of a crisis, landing him in
Denver to cool his heels while things get figured out. Becca is taking a break from the stress of
her life as a therapist and is enjoying a low stress and low responsibility
sabbatical while living above her parents’ garage. I love how Becca tries so hard to stay
focused on her goal of not committing to anything that leads to stress or
responsibility. It is very amusing. I adore Linx.
His heart that just wants to make music, falls hard and fast for
Becca. I love how patient he is with
her. I love the passion and heat between
them. I love how they communicate their
feelings, even when those feelings speak of uncertainty.
The characters were fun and well developed. The secondary characters add depth that sets up future books. I really enjoyed the humorous moments and laughed out loud more than once. Readers who have read this author’s other works will be most pleased to learn that Babushka makes a few appearances, spreading joy and mayhem in her wake. I loved this book, and I am very excited for this new series from a talented author that always makes me laugh. It makes my day better to read her work.
Emma is grieving the loss of her husband when she moves to an old Civil War era house gifted to her by her mother-in-law. There she meets the artist/caretaker Caleb. They share an instant connection, though they get off to a bit of a rocky start. Emma finds herself having weird experiences where she is having dreams and flashbacks to the 1860s from the point of view of a young woman named Elizabeth. This book is written in first person from Emma and Elizabeth's POV.
I love how resilient Emma is in the face of a life that has been somewhat cruel to her. I love that when she starts to learn about Elizabeth's life, she goes for it, trying to figure out what happened. I love the support that her brother offers her, and the new friends she makes. I love the connection she shares with Caleb. Caleb is strong and patient with Emma. I love how he helps her through the feelings she is experiencing. I love that he cherishes her from early on. I love the deep emotions and passion they embrace together.
This was my first book by this author. I
was seriously sucked into this story. I really did not want to put it
down. I knew how I wanted the story to go, but I was kept guessing
till almost the end to see if was going to go the way I hoped. I thought
the flashbacks were well done, and the writing overall was on point. I
loved the pacing of the book. I adored the dual story lines and the
beautiful perfect ending. I highly recommend this book.

This book tells the story of Scout and Daisy. Scout is the brother of J.R. and we met him
in Twist of Fate. This book can be read
as a complete standalone, but I really enjoyed knowing J.R.’s while reading
this book. It is written in first person
from a dual POV.
Scout and Daisy are both attractive and likable characters
that are working hard to achieve their dreams while rolling with what life
throws at them. Fate is sometimes cruel
to them. Neither one of them had
conventional childhoods and they became fast friends in high school. I love the story and that it takes place over
a few years. I love that they keep
coming back to each other. I love how
both characters mature over the course of the story. I love their little girl Melody, who
completely stole my heart. I appreciated
the wise advice Scout’s Gran is so good at giving. Daisy’s cousin, Sly, is fun, supportive, and
an all-around cool chick. I can’t wait
to read her story. I loved the glimpses
of J.R., both early in the story and closer to the end. Knowing what transpired for him during that time
made the story that much sweeter.
In short, because I don’t want to slip any spoilers, I
adored this book and I really need to read more books by this author. I definitely recommend this book.

This hot and fast read covers the story of Diego and Ali. It is written in first person from Diego's POV with the exception of one of the two epilogues, written in Ali's POV.
Diego is a 39 year old billionaire who falls for Ali at first sight. He kind of stalks her until he arranges a meeting and talks to her and asks her out. He knows he will marry her and give her the big family they both desire. Their relationship moves very fast and then they are apart for a month due to Diego's father's illness. Diego shows up to claim her and make her his.
The H is a dominant alpha intent on breeding his innocent h and keeping her forever. Ali is an innocent 18 year old that is trying to meet family expectations when she falls for Diego. This was a quick and hot read full of passion and insta-love.

This was a quick and steamy short full of insta-love between Adam, the fire marshal, and Rory, a curvy college senior. I really liked the premise of the book. Rory is pretty good at bending situations to fit her. It was so short, there really was np room for character development and the plot was not all that believable. However, for a hot short story, it was an entertaining read. |
