Holiday Hookup by S.A. Clayton

This is a sweet and steamy read about Nellie, who is a single mom to 5-year-old Jaxson, and Dane, rock star and lead singer for the group Blanked Edge. Dane is tired of the rock star life and is ready to make a change when he meets Nellie. She is working hard, exhausted, and just trying to get by. The chemistry between them is undeniable. Nellie must overcome her fears and Dane has to work out the details to make his life the one he wants to live. This hot holiday read is written in first person from a dual POV.
I really enjoyed Nellie’s independence and her desire to protect her son. I loved how Dane is all-in from the beginning. I adore how he falls for Jaxson as well as Nellie. I love that they fit together so well. This was a fun holiday read that I didn’t want to put down.

One Last Time (Loveless Brothers #5) by Roxie Noir

Finally Together

Seth and Delilah finally get their day.  This is a second chance romance that is written in first person from a dual POV.

I love Seth.  His heart is huge, and he has loved Delilah for so long, mostly in a way that was self-destructive.  He has been a man-whore and has a well-earned reputation.  Delilah and Seth were high school and college sweethearts.   They have a lot of history.  They have said some very mean things to each other.  They have hurt each other over and over.  It is so good when they break the old patterns and act in a mature manner.  Their HEA is not easily obtained and they have to work at it, but it is worthwhile.

I loved reading about the Loveless family chaos again. I enjoyed the small town, and that Delilah is not your typical southern belle.  There is lots of heat, some angst, and finally: hope.  A very enjoyable conclusion to the Loveless Brothers series.

Maybe This Time: A One Time Only Novella

This prequel perfectly builds the tension and attraction between Stone and Jackson, setting the scene for their book. I love that I got to read how Jackson came to work for Stone. The chemistry is thick and the banter is witty. This is written in first person from dual POV.

Jackson and Stone are hot, hot, hot!

This M/M Romance is written in first person from dual POV.  IT features rock star Stone Zenith and his bodyguard Jackson Pearce.

Jackson is a big, burly guy with a romantic, soft heart.  He wants to avoid the risk of being hurt again and has given up on love.  Stone is a player who enjoys men and women and all the pleasure that comes from that.  He is an artistic soul who embraces physical love in all of its forms.

I loved reading as their relationship evolved.  I appreciated that Stone was a little unnerved by his attraction to Jackson and how it consumed him. I understood Jackson’s efforts to resist his attraction to Stone.  I adored the friendship they build, and the trust, before they give in to their chemistry.  I love the possessiveness that Jackson feels for Stone.  I love the heat between them.  I adore the banter as they chat and give each other a hard time.  I really appreciated getting to know each character’s heart and what drives them.

This was an excellent read and is probably one of my favorite bodyguard romances of all time.  The characters are well developed, and the pacing of the story is quite good.  I highly recommend.

Book reviews for books read January 19th-24th

Happy weekend! I decided that since I hit 7 books this week I should just go ahead and push this out today. I will read at least one more today but you will see that review next week. I had a gap between ARCs! I went back and finished the Kings of Avalier series that I started in February 2024.  SO GOOD! They are new adult, which is not my norm, but the fantasy realm made them un-put-down-able. I am thrilled to meet the author in Phoenix in a couple of weeks. I read the next book in the J. Saman series I am making my way through. Those Abbot-Fritz brothers are something else. I adore that whole family. I read four novellas with 2 of those being new-to-me authors. Coco Miller's book was a fun billionaire read, and Regine Abel's Prime Mating Agency was GOLD. You will see in my review that I loved this first in series book, and I am super excited to read the rest of them. I read a wonderful mafia novella by Lee Savino. He is truly obsessed with the girl without it being a terri...

Book reviews for books read October 20th-31st

I read two arcs in the second part of October. They were both wonderful reads. Obviously, my personal life has impacted my reading as I only finished 5 books this month. I can't tell you when the last time was that I read so little. The positive part was all of the books I read this month were very good. Until next time, happy reading! Can't Believe You Came (Mile High Matched #5)  by Christina Hovland ARC: Release Date- 10/24/2025 #CinnamonRollHero #OppositesAttract #ARC I am voluntarily writing this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book. It is written in third person, can be read as a standalone, and ends with a HEA. I have loved this series from the beginning. It is wonderful to finally see the last Dvornakov get their HEA. Zach is a cinnamon roll hero to love. He falls first, fast, and hard for Piper. Piper, who is type A personified, does her best to control every situation she is in and Zach is an outlier. His calm and steady presence c...

Book reviews from the week of June 7th

The weekend is almost over as I type this but this is me running behind this week. What a week it has been! I have worked a lot at the job, the hubby had surgery, and we celebrated both my 33rd wedding anniversary and Father's Day.  I read one ARC, two books from my TBR, and one new-to-me author. I have found that after I read a really good book I need to read something a little different to get over the book hangover. That happened twice this week. After I finished the Harlow James ARC, I read an escort book by Leigh James that has been on my kindle for ages. After I read Lyndsey Gallagher's newest release, I started Escort Training which I think I picked up free a while back. That led me down a rabbit hole to reading the whole series. I have decided to review that whole series together as opposed to reviewing each book individually as they are really one story on three stages. It was a fabulous variety of reads this week and now I need to get serious and get back to ARCs. ...
