Book reviews for the week of February 18th

Happy weekend! This week I read four ARCs and a novella that has been on my TBR since it released last October. Madison Score's book is her debut novel and is a mystery with romance. It is the beginning of a multi-book series. "Roman", by Melanie Moreland, was a fantastic read that wraps up the Men of the falls duet. Book one, "Aldo", is already available.  Grab it and read now so you are ready when Roman releases on March 6th. "The Best Kept Secret" by Emily Silver begins a new series for her that is a hockey romance series.  It was a wonderful read with Romeo and Juliet elements. "Hold Me" by Tawna Fenske is book three in her Cherry Blossom Lake series. The town playboy falls hard for innocent Zoe. Finally, I read "Venice, Actually" by Kelly Reynolds. As her second published book, it is impressive with the diverse and well-developed characters and story; especially in a novella length book. I hope my reviews help you add some of...

Book reviews from the week of February 11th

Happy weekend! This week I read four novels (including one ARC), one novella, and listened to two audiobook short stories. Of those, three were new-to-me authors.  With Valentine's day, returning to work after recovering from the flu, and getting my house back in order for the same reason, it was a hectic week. Sometimes I just need a read that I know I can finish in a short period of time and will guarantee me a warm fuzzy feeling.  If it also meets a reading challenge requirement along the way, then that is even better.  Check out this week's reviews.  I hope you find some new books to add to your TBR. Betting Against the Scoundrel (Dukes and Secrets #4)  by Mariah Stone ARC: Release Date-02/27/2024 #EnemiesToLovers #Virgin #Historical #ARC 4 STARS Book four in the series is written in third person from an alternating dual POV and ends with a HEA. Due to the nature of the plot of the series, this book is best read last in the series though it fully cont...

Book reviews from the week of February 4th

Happy weekend! This week I caught the flu.  When stuck at home not allowed to go to work, what should I do?  I read of course. (After I was feeling better than the initial yuck.) I finished three ARCs, three books for reading challenges by two new-to-me authors, and one audiobook novella.  It was quite a week.  I read everything from sex club fantasy hot times to closed door fantasy romance. I feel happy and thrilled that I had such a diverse reading week.  Take a look.  maybe you will find a new author or two to love like I did. Until next time, happy reading! Untether (Alchemy #4) by Elodie Hart ARC: Release Date- 02/08/2024 #AgeGap #OWYM #Celebrity #SingleMom #OppositesAttract #ARC 5 STARS Book four in the series can be read as a standalone and ends in a HEA.  It is written in first person from an alternating dual POV. This book is a little lighter than some of the others, yet still beyond hot.  Previous characters had to deal with relig...

Book reviews from the week of January 28th

Happy weekend!  I read four ARCs this week.  Two were the remaining books in the four book Mom Coms series, and two were football romances.   I really enjoyed the entire Mom Coms series.  It was interconnected in a way you rarely see from a multi-author series.  The characters were fun and there were lots of laughs through the entire series.  Of course, all of these books pack some heat too, which I love.  The two football romances are both different and were very enjoyable.  In common: both couples have a history that enhances their relationship. I love reading football romances this time of year as everyone is gearing up for the Super Bowl. I find that I love a cinnamon roll or golden retriever hero.  I did marry one, so that makes sense. I also find that I am hardest on the heroines in books that have one of those heroes.  Is that just me?  I feel a little guilty sometimes.  Like, maybe I should be more supportiv...

Book reviews from the week of January 22nd

Happy weekend!  I am coming to you just a day later than normal this weekend so that I could finish book two in the Mom Coms series before I posted.  I have books three and four as ARCs, and I am really excited to keep reading this fun and engaging series written by four separate authors.  So far, the first two books have formed a cohesive picture of the four moms and their children.  I also read one ARC that will release at the end of this week and listened to one cute audiobook novella.  I hope my reviews help you find some new reads to add to your TBR.  Till next time, happy reading. Through the Glen (The Highlands Series #3)  by Samantha Young ARC: Release Date-02/01/2024 #Celebrity #RomanticSuspense #ForcedProximity #OppositesAttract #SmallTown #ARC 5 STARS Book three in the series can be read as a standalone and ends in a HEA.  It is written in first person from an alternating dual POV.  Because the series is interconnected stand...

Book reviews from the week of January 14th

Happy weekend!  This week was a five star week for me.  I read five ARCs and they were all fantastic!  I hope you check out these books and love them as much as I did.  Until next time, happy reading. The Bride's Runaway Billionaire  (Three BFFs and a Wedding #3) by Pippa Grant ARC: Release Date- 01/18/2024 #Billionaire #Celebrity #OneNightStand #SurprisePregnancy #SecretBaby #SmallTown #RomanticComedy #ARC 5 STARS Book three in this series can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA.   That said, characters from the first two books in the series play important roles in this book.   There is history in those books that also pertains to this book.   I believe readers will have the best experience by reading the entire series in order.   This book is written in first person from an alternating dual POV. I met Emma for the first time in book one of the series.   That story revolves heavily around her destination wedding a...
