Book reviews for books read the week of August 11th

Happy weekend!  This week I read one ARC and two books from my TBR to meet reading challenges. First up, Jessica Peterson has Cash arriving on 8/22 and it knocked my socks off. I am beyond excited for this series. I am still all in my feels over it.  I read my first Evie Dunmore book this week. It has been on my kindle for a while and it was the perfect book to read for a challenge that needed a book with more than ten thousand reviews. I also went rough my library and looked at books that had a pink cover. I have several, and the one that grabbed me was Across From You by A.M. Daniels. It was a fun and lighthearted read that was exactly what I needed for the challenge. I am back home now after three weeks away, so I am playing catch up on all the home things neglected in my absence. I am hopeful that I will be able to get a few more books in this next week despite returning to work at the job. Until next time: happy reading! Book reviews for books read August 1st-10th

Happy weekend! In the first ten days of August, I read three ARCs and one book that has been on my kindle for ages to meet a reading challenge. I am finishing up a three week stay in West Virginia at the farm where I grew up. I have enjoyed the time with my dad while being reminded of how much work it is to maintain even a small farm. While I was here, I took care of six cows, five calves, two dogs, a cat, and five goats. Over the last two weeks four goats had babies adding an additional ten goat babies to the mix. They are very cute, but they are a lot of work. One f the babies has needed bottle feedings in addition to what he can get from his mother due to a condition she has. It has been something! We never had goats growing up. That is something dad has added in the last five years or so, so I have learned a lot about goats while I have been here. I started the month with two ARCs back to back set in Scotland. It is a good way to start a month and I highly recommend it. Samantha

Book reviews for books read July 28th - 31st

I can't believe it is the end of July! I read three books since the weekend. Two are ARCs and one was a book from my TBR. August is bringing some amazing releases our way. I am always thrilled when I get to read before release and these two arcs were no exception. Pippa Grant takes us back to Copper Valley and joins the Thrusters and the Fireballs in her new release. Sandy Jones brings us back to Atlanta for an accidental Vegas wedding between two characters that were not supposed to get together. And finally, the next book in the Escort series by Leigh James (which I have been working through as palette cleansers0 served its purpose beautifully. It is hot and humid in West Virginia in July and August. I am very thankful for air conditioning. I don't have any baby goats to report yet, but I am sure I will by the next post. Stay cool and enjoy good books. Until next time, happy reading! The Secret Hook-Up (Copper Valley Thrusters #6) by Pippa Grant ARC: Release Date 08/01/2024
