Book reviews from the week of May 26th

Happy weekend!  This week I fell into my TBR and binged the entire Marriage Auction serial series by Audrey Carlan. Because I am me, I read the whole series and then the prequel. It didn't hurt me though.  When Kindle Vella came out, I knew it was not the platform for me. patience is not my virtue. The idea of waiting for the next chapter to drop seemed like a tortuous promise that might drive me a little nuts. I was thrilled when Audrey Carlan published her serial in a four book set. It has been on my list for a while. After reading Kathryn Nolan's next release (which is in last week's reviews) I had an enormous book hangover. I knew I needed to find something different to get past it before moving on to the next group of ARCs. So I went to my TBR and I remembered this series. I was all in. This was an AC week for me and it was glorious! One advantage of the serial format is the ability to intertwine multiple stories into the same time line. Like the soap operas on TV ...

Book reviews from the week of May 19th

Happy weekend. This week I read three ARCs and two books from my TBR.  All three ARCs will release the first week of June and the two books on my TBR have been on my kindle for a while. They served as perfect palette cleansers between these wonderful ARCs. Both books from my TBR offered heroines with disability. In The Marquess and I, Willow is blind. In Wolf Signs, the heroine is deaf. I felt like the authors handled both situations well within their stories and it made them interesting reads. Check out my reviews and add these to your TBR today if they grab you. I don't think you will regret it. Happy reading! My Royal Showmance (Park Avenue Promise #2)  by Lexi Blake ARC: Release Date- 06/04/2024 #Royal #SecretRomance #ARC Book two in the series is written in first person from Anika’s POV and ends in a HEA. It can be read as a standalone. If you love reality dating shows like The Bachelor, you are going to love this book. Luca, King of Ravalia, is looking for...

Book reviews from the week of May 12th

Happy Friday!  This week I read two ARCs, one prequel, and one hot new release off my TBR. It was great to mix it up a little. I was thrilled to squeeze in Lilian Harris' new book when I was caught up on ARCs for a day. I highly recommend it, especially if you like mafia romance and a burly, Irish MMC. Piper Rayne brought me into their new series set on the Plain Daisy Ranch in Nebraska with their prequel and book one of the series.  I loved reading as Ben gets his HEA with the girl he thought was lost to him. Finally, I read the final book in Swati M.H.'s series as Hudson and Kavi overcome their age gap and a whole host of other obstacles because they were absolutely perfect for each other in every way.   I had an amazing reading week and I hope you did too. Add some of these to your TBR and I guarantee you will not be sorry. Until next time, happy reading! One Last Summer (Plain Daisy Ranch #0.5)  by Piper Rayne #Prequel #NewAdult #SmallTown Written...

Book reviews for books read between May 1st and May 11th

Happy weekend! Eleven days into May and I have finished eight ARCs. Some might say when it rains, it pours: but I can tell you this has been a very enjoyable storm. Each of these books captured me in their own way. I loved them all. I also really appreciated the variety built into this month's arc reads.  Those following me may notice that I am no longer going to attach a star rating to my blog reviews. I have to for other platforms because it is either required, necessary for authors to be seen in algorithms, or both. I realized this week (it took me a while) that I don't have to assign that here. I am honestly not a huge fan of the star rating system. Two books can both be five stars in my eyes for very different reasons. Maybe one would be 8 stars if that was an option, but there is no where to rate that. The purpose of my reviews is to share what I liked or even loved about the books I read. In all reality, if I am not loving it, I will DNF the book and not review. There...

Book reviews for books read April 14th to April 30th

Hello.  I can't believe April is over. It flew by so fast! It was a crazy busy month for me. I did manage to read four ARCs and listen to one audiobook in the second half of the month.  These four books were all so different! The audiobook was a fantastic reread from my very first fantasy romance.  Check out my reviews and add these to your TBR. Mood Swings and Hockey Flings (Hot Flash Hook Ups #2)   by Marika Ray and Sylvie Stewart #Sports #ForcedProximity #EnemiesToLovers #ARC 5 STARS Written in first person from an alternating dual POV, this can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA. I love, love, love this series.  It is so relatable as a woman of a certain age to see a FMC experiencing some of the same things I am experiencing. It is also fun to have characters who react to life in a more mature manner than some books with younger characters. Ben is sweet and funny. Kaitlyn is fierce, competent, and determined.  They have amazing che...
