Book reviews from the week of December 24th through December 31st

I started the last week or so in December fully intending to read a bunch of holiday romances on my TBR.  I started with "Dear Christmas" by Sarah Ready, and it impacted me in the way only a really good book can. It kind of broke me. I knew that if I jumped into another holiday romance from there, regardless of how good it was, I wouldn't love it as much as I might if I waited a bit.   Looking at my book hangover cures from the past, I though that maybe an escort romance/erotica might fit the bill.  I pulled of January, book one of Audrey Carlan's Calendar Girl series that has been on my kindle for ages.  I never expected to get hooked.  But I did.  I spent the last several days of this year binging these novellas around holiday festivities.  Not only did I get a little erotica, I got a series where a young heroine completes an epic journey of self discovery over the course of a twelve month period of time.  Mia's character won me...

Book reviews from the week of December 10th

This was a busy week heading into the holidays.  I managed to read three books from my TBR and listen to one holiday novella. The Christmas Crush by Lyndsey Gallagher is a fun and steamy holiday romance.  I thoroughly enjoyed backing up and reading it after I read Dating for December in November.  I finally got to read the next two books of Swati M.H.'s Elements of Rapture series.  They were angsty good reads that I thoroughly enjoyed.  Ascend's Garrett Meyer just melted me. Finally, I delved into the Audible Plus catalog for a novella to listen to while I baked pepperoni rolls and wrapped presents.  It was perfect length for a day doing holiday tasks and fun and also a well-narrated listen.  You seriously cannot go wrong with Andi Arndt and Jason Clarke. I am headed out of town for a weekend away with the hubby so I am dropping this a day early.  Until next week, I hope you have a week full of amazing reads and happy endings. The Christmas...

Book reviews from December 1st through 9th

The beginning of December has started out full of chaos in my world.  In my paying job I work on an as needed basis.  So when other people want to take time off, they come to me.  That means that I am scheduled to work a lot in December and have already worked 5 12-hour shifts this month.  I don't mind since the paycheck is nice to have.  I have to support my book habit, after all.  But it does cut into my reading time. Despite my crazy week, I read three books from my TBR.  I decided to knock out reading challenge books first this month.  All three of these meet at least one reading challenge goal.  Marika Ray's Grumpy Little Christmas brought me maybe the grumpiest hero I have ever read. Morgana was exactly what he needed to lighten up a bit.  Sierra Simone delivered a smoking hot professor/employee romance.  And finally, the book co-written by Marika Ray and Sylvie Stewart was absolutely fantastic.  Read all about my ...
