Book reviews from the week of September 24th

Happy weekend! This week I read two ARCs.  Bother were sports romances and yet they were both different and excellent in their own way.  I also read two fairy tale retellings of Snow White.  Again, they were very different takes on modern versions of that story.  All of my reads were hard to put down.  I had company this week with my daughter visiting.  And I caught a horrible cold.  But I still managed to finish September with these four engaging reads. Take a look at my reviews.  I hope they help you grow your TBR just a little bit. I wish you a week of wonderful books and maybe a new-you author. Red Heart Card (Manchester Athletics #6) by Annie Dyer ARC: Release Date- 09/28/2023 #Sports #AgeGap #OWYM #CinnamonRollHero #ARC 5 STARS Book six in the series can be read as a standalone and ends in a HEA.   It is written in first person from an alternating dual POV. When we first met Jude in this series, he was young, excitable, and just plain fun.   Readers have had hints that he

Book reviews from the week of September 17th

Happy weekend!  This week I ended up working 4 x 12 hour dayshifts at my job.  On top of keeping the household running, that severely cut into my reading time.  I still managed to read a trilogy by a new-to-me author, including an ARC of book three which released on the 21st.   I do not read many duets or trilogies.  When I do, they have to be complete because I cannot stand cliffhangers.  They also require a commitment of time between the books already on my ARC schedule. Having time to squeeze in more than a standalone here and there in some months is very tough.  For example, I am committed to ARC read ten books that release is the month of September.  It all depends on how they are spaced as to what else I can fit in.  Though I read many subgenres, most of what I read are either true standalones or standalones within an interconnected series. When Ms. Jones' PA reached out to me to read book three of this trilogy as an ARC, I realized that I already owned the first two books

Book reviews for the week of September 10th

Happy Weekend!  This week I read two ARCs, one series prequel, one new release, one book for a reading challenge, and the hubby and  I finished an audiobook we started on our last road trip. Both of my ARCs are book one of brand new series and I am super excited about both of the.  I read both Ashley Cade and Maya Nicole for the first time and they bring the heat to their books.  I really enjoyed both of them.  On a week where I worked way too much at my job, I am thrilled that i got to read as much as I did.  Check out my reviews and add some books to your TBR. You won't regret it. On The Defense ( Chicago Grizzlies #0.5)  by Piper Rayne #Prequel 5 STARS Written in first person from multiple POV, this prequel sets up the new series.  I am so excited to get Miles and Bryce’s story. Readers meet all the major players of the series.  I am excited for Cooper and Bell’s friends-to-lovers story.  I am super excited to see playboy Damian settle down and get domestic. I am loving

Book reviews for September 1st through September 9th

I am off to a slow start with September.  So far I have read two ARCs and two books from my TBR (both new-to-me-authors).  The two arcs are both releasing this week. Check out my reviews and add them to your TBR.  I loved both of them.  I also really enjoyed the two new authors.  I met Elizabeth O'Roark at Book Bonanza 2022 after Jana Aston told me I needed to read her books.  I am sorry I waited this long, and I am excited to read more.  I think I picked up the book by Andie Long when it was free or on sale at some point.  I just loved the cover and the premise.  The book was a wonderful surprise with layers I did not expect.  I would love to read more of the series.  They are not currently in Kindle Unlimited, so I will be watching for more sales by this author. I need to get to reading, and I hope my reviews help grow your TBR. Happy reading!  Best Frenemies by Max Monroe ARC: Release Date- 09/16/2023 #EnemiesToLovers #ForcedProximity #OppositesAttract #Fling #ARC 5 STARS Th

Author Spotlight: Twenty Questions with Author Harlow James

Welcome to my author spotlight on Harlow James.  Her newest book just released yesterday, and she was kind enough to answer twenty questions for me to coordinate with her release.   My first book by Harlow James was Guilty As Charged.   I picked it up as an ARC from the PR company and I fell in love.  It wasn't long before I joined the author's ARC team and have been delighted to read all of her books since.  I was thrilled to meet her at Book Bonanza in 2022 when she was attending as a reader just like me. We were able to hang out together and I got to know this lovely woman who is passionate about her job, her family, and her writing.   Like many authors with jobs in sensitive settings, the author uses Harlow James as a pen name.  She is beautiful, brainy, and brave: teaching advanced math to high school students by day, as a wife to her meant-to-be, and as the mother of two gorgeous children at home. Here is her official bio: Harlow James is a wife and mom who fell in love
