Book reviews from the week of July 23rd

Can you believe that July is over?  I cannot.  I have been traveling for the last week so I decided that I would hold this post to go through reviews for the rest of July and post it August 1st. I read three ARCs and one book off my TBR in the last week or so.  They were all excellent reads.  I hope my reviews help you find some new books to add to your TBR. Rival Hero (Redleg Security #4) by Jackie Walker ARC: Release Date-07/31/2023 #RomanticSuspense #RomanticComedy #ARC 5 STARS Book four of the series brings readers the story of Mia and Klein and their road to their HEA.  It can be read as a standalone and is written in first person from an alternating dual POV.  At 474 pages, this book is not a quick read: readers will want to allow themselves time to sink into it. Cal (Calvin Klein) is a little cinnamon roll, a little golden retriever, and discovers through Mia (to his surprise) that he is also a bit of a dominant alpha.  I will say I absolutely loved Cal.  His relationship

Book reviews from the week of July 16th

Happy Weekend!  I read two ARCs, one read and listen book from my TBR, and then I fell down a rabbit hole with Sara Cate this week. I read an ARC by Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde, and a Read & Listen through KU this week by Carly Phillips.  Then I read a Regency historical ARC by Mariah Stone. I have been reading a lot of ARCs that are contemporary or rom-com in nature lately.  I love them, but sometimes I need to break it up a bit.  Mariah Stone's historical was a good start, but I still needed a palette cleanser.   I met Sara Cate in Dallas earlier this year at Holidays with the Belles.  At that point I had only read one book of hers: a standalone that I really enjoyed.  I realized I had more books of hers on my kindle and I decided to enjoy book one of the Salacious Players Club for a palette cleanser.  I never expected to get sucked in to reading the whole series right now.  I think about the series even as I try to read other books, sleep, and run errands.  I have decid

Book reviews from the week of July 9th

Happy weekend!  This post is coming in a day early since I will be traveling this weekend and won't get a lot of reading done.  I managed to read three ARCs this week finishing each of them just prior to their release.  All are contemporary romances with two of them set in small towns.  All three were wonderful reads.  There was plenty of heat, some laugh out loud moments, and lots of swoon in my reads this week.  I hope you consider my reviews and pick up these reads today or add them to your TBR.  You won't want to miss them. Plays Well With Others: How To Date Your Best Friend (How To Date #2) by Lauren Blakely ARC: Release Date- 07/12/2023 #FriendsToLovers #CinnamonRollHero #Sports #FakeRelationship #ARC 5 STARS This book can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA.   It is written in first person from an alternating dual POV. Rachel just finalized her divorce from her douchey ex and moved home to San Francisco.   Her sister, her best girlfriends, and her best f

Book reviews from the week of July 2nd

Happy weekend!  I am headed to the mountains to do some off-roading and camping with my honey this weekend.   I read four books this week, one ARC, one reading challenge book, and two books from my TBR.  Sometimes I read so many contemporary romances in a row and I need something completely different before I read the next ARC.  Jess Bryant's Fated Mates series is the perfect palette cleanser for me and I worked two books in this week as part of my process.  Danika Bloom is a new author for me.  She reached out to me and asked if I had time to read and review her upcoming release.  I did and I am so glad I worked it in.  Witty writing and complex characters made an unforgettable story.  Finally I read a novella by Ember Davis.  Who doesn't love a steamy insta-love rock star romance?  I certainly did. I hope my reviews help you find a read or several to add to your TBR.  Have a wonderful week full of amazing books and the time to read them. The Billionaire's Shrubbery by D

Book reviews from the week of June 25th

Happy weekend!  I am working all weekend.  (This is my summer holiday to work.)  I read one ARC and two books from my TBR this week.  C.D. Reiss has been on my list since before Book Bonanza last year and I finally read one of her books.   Anger Bang by Avery Flynn released this week and I had to read it right away.  Finally, Lena Hendrix released her next book in the Sullivan Family series and I was able to read the ARC.  It has all the HGTV vibes so grab it and enjoy the sparks between Kate and Beckett. (Check out my separate blog post to meet Lena and learn about all of her books.) I read 15 books in June and 10 of those were ARCs.  It is not my biggest reading month, but I also worked a little more than I have been and we had a couple of camping trips. I love spending time with my hubby so I can't regret a thing. I hope my reviews help you find your next great read.  I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday week with all the books and happy endings. One Touch (Sullivan Family
